15-year-old Erik Jones, the 2011 JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by GM Performance Parts Champion, is making his third ARCA Racing Series start of the 2012 racing season for Venturini Motorsports out of 10 he’s scheduled to run in.

So far, Jones has finished 29th after leading before suffering mechanical issues at Mobile International Speedway in Mobile, Alabama back in March and he scored a fifth place showing at Salem Speedway in Salem, Indiana last month.

He’s also the youngest driver in ARCA Racing Series history to start an event when he took the green flag back in March.

Yesterday in Menards Pole Qualifying, Tucson, Arizona driver, Alex Bowman in his #22 St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital Dodge earned his second career Menards Pole Award presented by Ansell.

Bowman turned a lap of 16.046 seconds (112.178 mph) to sweep the entire day of practice and qualifying sessions on the first day of the 71st ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards event at the 1/2 mile high-banked paved oval.
