Also, there was a discrepancy with how Dennis Reno’s qualifying run was completed. Reno’s fastest lap wasn’t scored. Officials reviewed the video and it showed that Reno had the 23rd fastest lap. They are going to take the top 29 in qualifying and lock them in for the AA 400. Six will be taken from Saturday’s 100-lap last chance race and one promoter option.
8:01
Willie Allen’s time has been thrown out. He will start last in the last chance race on Saturday.

We just spoke to DeAngelis, they think they found the problem and was hoping to get out on track to test, but was not allowed too. He will have to wait until qualifying to see if their problem is fixed.

Comment From DDP

What is the latest on DeAngelis #7? Have they figured anything out?

2:20
All teams will have two chances to get through pre-qualifying technical inspection before they are penalized. If they do not get through the second time, they will be penalized one lap during qualifying.

A one-lap penalty will also be applied to a team if they do not make it to tech on time.
