Today’s race could decide the series championship here at Nashville as Johnny VanDoorn has a sizable lead over Scott Hantz (who is not here) and Brian Campbell. It would be back-to-back titles for VanDoorn if he can clinch it here today at Nashville.

One car that will not be doing any warm up laps today is the nine car of Chase Elliott. His Ford is sitting in the hauler waiting on Chase to arivie from North Wilkesboro where he is qualifying for tomorrow’s USARacing Pro Cup event. Elliott will look to do the double this weekend in two different places and two different series.

We need more people like Sterling Marlin, Darrell Waltrip, Tony Stewart… people in the higher-ranks of the sport who step in to support, shed spotlight and progress the grassroots-side of the sport. Kudos to Marlin for that. It would be tragic to lose Nashville Fairgrounds.

We are back from the driver’s meeting were the biggest news that was announced that two-time Daytona 500 winner Sterling Marlin has stepped forward and will be getting a lawyer to sue the city of Nashville over the rights to the Nashville track and try to keep the venue alive. Marlin said this was where he started racing and came here when he was still in diapers. Hopefully Marlin’s efforts will keep the track alive and keep racing in Nashville.

Great to see guys like Mike Garvey back in the Short Track ranks. How cool is it to see ol’ Sterling Marlin wheelin’ it again at Nashville. This could be one fot he ages. My pick… a youngster believe it or not. Josh Hamner is my pick to win the All American 400. Good car and think he has the patience to keep the wheels on it.
