Hoar’s crew nicknamed his new car “Hot Tamale”. Crew Chief Rick Paya toldSpeed51.com that they’ve always had a name for their cars, but up until this race this particular car didn’t have a name.

The “Tamale” part of the nickname comes from the red paint scheme on the No. 37VT, while the “Hot” part of the nickname comes from the lack of an air conditioning system inside of the cockpit.

Brian Hoar on his first win in his new Late Model:

“I’m stoked, really stoked,” said Hoar. “It’s taken three races to get to this point. Last year we had an average finish of three before this year, this year I think we have an average finish of 14th or 15th.

“The car was turning really, really well. It’s just new car blues this year and today they gave me something I could really run with.”
