2:58

71 Jimmy Zacharias (Candor, NY) is on the track for the first time.

2:58

Yes indeed, Hooker was a long-time competitor at Toledo Speedway back in the mid/late 1990s in the tracks old Late Model Sportsman division and is a yearly visitor to Speedweeks. These days he races primarily on the dirt at South Buxton Speedway in Chatham, Ontario/Canada where he was the 2011 Late Model Track Champion

2:57

Comment From Cale

May or may not know, Kirk Hooker predominantly runs Dirt! Still a threat when hes on asphalt!

2:57

70 Gerstner is heading back to the pits.

2:57

None of these four cars practiced yesterday. We know the #00 of Ted Christopher, the #8 of Jonathan Kievman, and the #79 of Daniel Hemric are on the grounds as well. The #11 of Weichert was here practicing yesterday but we don’t even honestly see his car in the pits right now.

No, qualifying will probably be the best barometer of the number of Mod machines to expect tonight. Some cars may not practice after timing in yesterday and playing it safe with the completely green racetrack.

2:52

Comment From Jay Mckinney

Do we have a total car count on tour type mods yet?

2:50

The track used this opportunity to make some changes to the cross gate in turn two.

58 Eric Goodale (Wading River, NY) is the first car in line on pit road for NASCAR Tour-Type Modifieds Practice.

We at Speed51.com get a ton of emails, tweets and Facebook messages asking for some publicity for drivers, series and tracks. Much of the newsworthy stuff ends up on one of our outlets. Sometimes, we do take their advice and make them a feature story or do something cool to promote what they have going on.

Now, we want to step up our coverage and publicity for drivers throughout North America to continue bringing fans the most comprehensive short track racing coverage on the web.

To do that, we need your help for two new areas of Speed51.com. Sign up for our Speed51.com Driver Database and Social Media directory. It’ll help you get some story ideas through us at 51 and some new fans when we publish the social media page.
