Our coverage for today is not even close to being completed. We still have the Bombers and Sportsman cars coming up tonight. They will hit the track at 5:00pm for practice with qualifying at 6:15pm. Racing will get underway at 8:00pm. There is a large car count in both divisions and the racing should be exciting tonight.

Along with the racing action, many of the drivers, teams, media, officials and some of the Speed51.com staff will be heading over to Fast Eddies Fun Park for the 14th Annual Snowball Showdown. Wild and go-kart action on Fast Eddie’s tri-oval go-kart track.

The difference in pro and super lates is not just carbs the pro cars utilize a 650 cfm 4 barrel on various crate engines that are wet sump either gm or ford. The supers utilize a few different carb options that are based on engine package in the car.

Fultz also said that their machine was fast out of the hauler but that they are hitting the rev chip really hard at the moment and the team is checking to see if the wiring is faulty on that component.

We just spoke with NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour competitor Cole Powell. He tells us that it’s a “huge adjustment” going from a Tour-Type Modifed to a Super Late Model. Powell said the biggest problem he had during his first practice run was that he was driving too hard into the turns.

Just got word that there is a large car count for tonights Bombers and Sportsman divisions. The car count is so high that the track is not able to put anymore cars in the infield today. Tim Bryant and his staff at Five Flags Speedway are currently working on creating an auxiliary pit area outside of the track to accommodate those teams. The Snowball Derby weekend not only attracts the best Super Late and Pro Late Model drivers, but support division drivers as well.
