We don’t want to give him the race before we run it, but Bubba Pollard has looked very good this weekend. Pollard has had tons of heartbreaks here at GMP this season and in the past. He has won here, but never in the World Crown. In fact he ended the 2009 World Crown on his lid. He would love to put all of that behind him this year.

Here is our video of the wreck

And here is our video from this year when they named the walls after them changed them in his honor.

Super Late Models are out on the track for their final one hour practice. Fifteen minutes into practice, Casey Roderick leads followed by Justin Wakefield, Cale Gale, TJ Reaid and Chase Elliott.
2:12
Hill ran about 10 Late Model races a year ago and had six or seven top 10 runs. They were in the mix for the World Crown 300 till a late race wreck took him out. Hill also won several races in Legends cars before his Late Model days.

whats the background information on Austin Hill?

Mike Garvey is in pit number 22 the same number that Matt Hawkins used when Garvey was his crew chief here at GMP. They came close to winning the World Crown, twice. (51 Photo)
2:11
Sometimes things have a strange way of working out and that could be the case with Mike Garvey here at Gresham. Garvey was the Crew Chief for the late Matt Hawkins and the two had several strong runs here in the World Crown 300. Although they never went to victory lane before Hawkins passed away the torch might be passed this weekend as Garvey lined up in pit stall number 22, the same number that Hawkins drove for many years.

Russell Fleeman is on the track with the same car he won the World Crown with in 2008. That could be bad news for the rest of the field if his team gets that car hooked up.

We are hearing that after getting out of his Super Late Model this practice, Bubba Pollard told his crew guys “Don’t even sneeze on it!”

We caught up with Eddie Hoffman to see what his thoughts are on doing double duty this weekend. Eddie said he feels like he has a much better car for the Pro Late Model race then he does for the Super Late Model race.
11:34
Yes, indeed it does. Add in Port City as well. About 90% of the field is made up of those three chassis manufacturers.

Many Super Late Model teams are electing to skip this mornings practice, as their is still plenty of practice left today. Perhaps some are waiting until the track conditions are closer to what the race will be run under. Less then half of the cars have been out so far.
10:16
Cale Gale just busted off a lap, putting him back to the top of the charts.
10:14
One can assume that speeds in this practice session are mostly meaningless as all the cars have already qualified. Most teams are just trying to get the balance and feel of their cars ready to run the 300 lap main event.

10:13
Early on in todays practice, Lonnie Sommerville tops the charts followed by TJ Reaid, Cale Gale, Casey Roderick and Paul Kelley.
10:09
Cale Gale may have won the pole for the World Crown 300, but perhaps that may not play into his favor. History has shown that the pole winner almost never wins the race. The only driver to ever win the pole and the race in its 27 year history was Fredrick Moore in 2003.
10:06
Mike Garvey is among the first drivers to take some practice laps this morning. He wasn’t here to qualify his car into Sundays race yesterday as he was busy crew chiefing a NASCAR Camping World Truck at the Pheonix race. He will start at the tail end of the field for the 300 lap Super Late Model race tomorrow.
