Listen live to the feature beginning at 7:45pm ET on www.nascarhometracks.com. Updates here on Trackside Now will be limited during the feature, but we encourage everyone to listen live and to check back here for post-race coverage.

5:54
Tonight’s feature will be under the same race procedures as last week’s season opener. There will be a halfway break. Teams will come down pit road as they run on the track and split into three groups. The first group, the first seven or eight runners, will have three minutes to make adjustments. Tires can be swapped (rights for lefts, fronts for rears), but can not be changed. Fuel and other adjustments that can be made in those three minutes are allowed. At the end of those three minutes, group two goes under the clock, followed by group three. The race will then restart as they entered the pits at the break.
5:43
The cars will start the feature straight-up as they qualified.

While in the infield, we heard some good news. Defending series champ George Brunnhoelzl III and his wife Heather are expecting a daughter this September. Congrats to the entire Brunnhoelzl family!
5:08
Just about every car has gone through the tech line at this point. Frank Fleming, JR Bertuccio and Joe Scarbrough are the final cars to go through the line.
4:51
Wilson’s main objective in the meeting was to relay that NASCAR will not tolerate any wreckless driving tonight. No retaliations will be tolerated, either, of course unofficially referencing last weekend’s Miller/Seuss incident.

Modified teams are presenting their cars for pre-qualifying tech inspection. We’ve heard that the 01 car of Rich Kuiken, Jr. has been found to have quarter-panels too high in inspection and has not been released to the tech line yet. The car will have to be repaired before getting into line and await any potential qualifying penalties.

There are eight local divisions here today in addition to the NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour. The NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Late Model Stock Cars will have double 50-lap features tonight, with the first hitting the track just before the Modified feature.
4:25
The combination NASCAR Whelen / Whelen Southern Modified Tour race at Bristol Motor Speedway will be broadcast live on SPEED on Wednesday, August 22nd. At this time, that is the only NASCAR Modified event to be televised.

But, we at Speed51.com will be providing the on-air talent and production for the NASCAR Home Tracks Radio broadcasts, which will include several events from both tours, throughout the season.

Comment From Glenn

Any races going to be televised

4:01
Brown’s practice lap flirted with the track record here, but would need to happen in qualifying to officially go in the record books. Brown’s lap of 15.765 was just a tick slower than the record, held by Brunnhoelzl in April of 2009 with a lap of 15.752.
