how bad did the 57 scrap the wall?

8:50
88 MacDonald is making his first appearance of Speedweeks after arriving today from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario/Canada.

88 MacDonald has came down pit road as a crew member is washing his windshield, more than likely oil from the 4b Bruns.
8:49
The #57 of Tim Moore scraped the wall while slowing down for the yellow as well.
8:48
It appears as if 4b Bruns may have lost a motor in his machine as he has come to rest on the back stretch and there's a trail of fluid on the track.

Then SKs

8:20
Eric Goodale had taken second on the previous lap and will now be second on the restart.
8:20
LAP 23 - CAUTION - John Jensen and Ryan Preece together in Turn Two. Preece goes around but keeps it off the wall. Billy Weichart also spins to avoid.
8:19
RESTART - Hemric SPINNNNNNNNNNS the tires on the restart but somehow manages to get the hammer down and pull away.
8:19
Hemric will take the outside for the restart, Emerling on the in.
8:18
79 Hemric has led all 22 laps so far. Just 3 laps remaining.
8:18
Good obversation, we'd have to agree.
8:18
Comment From TorpedoTom Syracuse NY

Looks like inside lane when tires are fresh and outside lane once they are heat cycled a few times.

8:18
This will leave Hossfeld 6th and TC 7th. Those two are running side-by-side under caution and we imagine some hand communication is going on between the two.
8:17
SK Top 3
1. 59 Dave Cramner
2. 12 Rob Schultz
3. 70 Jeremy Gerstner
8:17
Running Order - LAP 22:

1 Daniel Hemric

the 8x transporter is broken down on 95

8:15

8:14

8:14

8:12
Comment From top spotter

gonna get good....

8:11
LAP 16 - CAUTION - Spin on the backstretch. Kevin Goodale around and nips the inside backstretch wall. That saves Hemric who did not get a great restart and looked to be losing the lead to Hossfeld.
8:10
One to go. Hemric will choose the inside line once again. It's worked great the first two double-file restarts
8:10
Daniel Hemric is looking for his first ever Modified victory and it would mean a lot to the Hillbilly Racing team after team patriarch Roger Hill passed away over the winner.

7:59
The Zacharias team brought a Tour-type (driven by Timmy) and an SK (Jimmy) for tonight.
7:59
Comment From James

What happened to the 71 Modified? Did they convert it to a SK?

7:58
On the grounds, but not answering the call tonight are:

73 Cole Powell
7:57
Pace laps.
7:57
Remember, there is a race inside the race for this Tour-type/SK feature. The SKs have merged with the Tour-type division for all the races this week. It's highly unlikely due to their engine package that an SK will win the race outright, but the top-finishing SK driver will be credited with an SK victory. All the SKs will start together in the back.

Matt Tifft's Facebook page reports that last night the team broke a swaybar bracket and that was the issue with the primary car. Likely, the team is just using this free day to test their backup as Tifft took a long time to shake the car down before hitting the hammer.

February 10th, 2009.... Keep that date handy as that is the last time a Non-Florida resident won a Florida/IMCA-Type Modifieds Feature during Speedweeks. Mike Stacy visited victory lane that night. Since then, Sunshine State representatives have dominated.

Maverick McDonald, who arrived today after making the long haul from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario/Canada looks to be a threat to win Tonight after timing in second quick in final Practice.

SCHULTZ CAR IS B RAND NEW FINISHED SATURDAY

1:55
We at Speed51.com get a ton of emails, tweets and Facebook messages asking for some publicity for drivers, series and tracks. Much of the news-worthy stuff ends up on one of our outlets. Sometimes, we do take their advice and make them a feature story or do something cool to promote what they have going on.

Now, we want to step up our coverage and publicity for drivers throughout North America to continue bringing fans the most comprehensive short track racing coverage on the web.

To do that, we need your help for two new areas of Speed51.com. Sign up for our Speed51.comDriver Database and Social Media directory. It'll help you get some story ideas through us at 51 and some new fans when we publish the social media page.

Schultz is an SK, bringing the tally of SKs on the ground to five. One SK we have not seen yet today is Jeremy Gerstner who last we heard had to change an engine after the Saturday feature.
1:53
Rob Schultz's #12 Modified hits the track for the first  time this Speedweeks. Preece's team heading back out. Without transponder, it is hard to tell how they are doing, but team seems pretty relaxed in the pits from our vantage point.
1:51
Unfortunately, no. The TBARA tech and official scoring is done by their sanctioning body, so the unofficial results we posted last night are as far as we know for sure. TBARA's official website is tbara.net for more information hopefully after Speedweeks to double check if those results are official. We should note though that we have heard nothing in the pits this morning to make us think something changed since last night's rundown.

Comment From WI Fan

Kudos to officials and drivers for putting on a great show last night. After a rough opening night, race director Glenn Luckett stressed in last nights meeting the rules regarding starts and restarts. In addition, he reminded everyone to be smart because the week is really early. In turn, fans were treated to great racing with very few cautions. If every night can be half as good as last night, fans in the stands can expect great things to come.

12:35
Comment From Andy S

Can you just confirm your 12.29 post - is that a combined Tour/SK mod feature or 2 seperate features? I'm assuming the latter, but it reads a little confusing.

12:34
Here comes the #2x of Ryan Preece, driving his grandfather's machine after his primary #40 was destroyed in a crash Saturday night.
12:33
Also see the #9 of Donnie Noll, in a second Hillbilly Racing machine coming out to practice.

Pratice about to get started for Tour-Type/SK Modifieds. We see five ready to practice - Emerling, the Goodales, John Jenson and Dave Cranmer
12:32
Last night Kyle Benjamin won his first ever Super Late Model race in impressive fashion, leading all 30 laps of the SLM feature. Our crew wants to give a quick nod to something impressive he did after the race. After friends, family, and race fans everywhere tweeted to him on Twitter to congraluate him, Mr. 14-year-old Benjamin took the time last night to go back and reply to all those comments with thanks. Pretty classy.

In addition, we would like to take a moment to thank Gary Yeomans Ford who stepped up this weekend in a big way and has sponsored the track's timing and scoring, which will save racers transponder rental money. While they are not an official sponsor of Speed51, we would like to give them a nod for helping out both the track and teams. ALL Practice Results, Qualifying Results, Starting Line-Ups, and Feature Results are Presented by Gary Yeomans Ford.
