Super Late Models
After going winless and having struggled for much of the 2019 season, Carson Hocevar needed a win. At the Show Me State Showdown Saturday night at Lebanon I-44, it had appeared he was on his way to that win after dominating much of the ARCA/CRA Super Series race. However, heartbreak would strike when he cut down a right front with less than 20 laps to go.
Instead of throwing in the towel, Hocevar made a cannonball run back through the field in the final 18 laps, finding himself in third with three to go. He worked by Kyle Crump to take second, then passed reigning Winchester 400 winner Stephen Nasse on the final lap to complete the comeback and earn his first-career ARCA/CRA Super Series win and first win since a JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour race at Auto City Speedway in August 2018.
For completing one of the biggest comebacks Super Late Model fans have seen in recent memory and ending a long winless streak, Carson Hocevar has been named the Tilton Clutch Performer of the Month for May. Hocevar will receive a $250 product certificate from Tilton Engineering for his clutch performances.
