Dirt Late Models
The most clutch moments in racing come when a driver scores a win in a photo finish. That’s exactly what defending ULTIMATE Super Late Model Series champion Zack Mitchell did at Lancaster Speedway on June 6.
He and Michael Brown dueled it out at the half-mile for much of the feature event. When the white flag flew, it was game on for both drivers. Brown used a slide job going into turns three and four to clear Mitchell momentarily. Mitchell then pulled a crossover move in corner exit and had a drag race to the checkered flag. Mitchell took the win from Brown in a photo finish.
For prevailing in a photo finish even after losing the lead at a point on the final lap, Zack Mitchell has been named the Tilton Clutch Performer of the Month for May. Mitchell will receive a $250 product certificate from Tilton Engineering for his clutch performance.
