Performing in the clutch separates the best drivers from the pack. When the laps are counting down and the lights are shining brightest, the top racers thrive under pressure. Each month during the 2020 season, Tilton Engineering will honor a “Clutch Performer of the Month” from the world of short track racing.
The winner of the Tilton Engineering Clutch Performer of the Month Award for the month of August is…
Oxford Plains Speedway
For the first time, the Tilton Engineering Clutch Performer of the Month has gone to someone other than a driver. It takes a lot to put on a crown jewel event such as the Oxford 250, and it was a joint effort by PASS, ACT, the Northeast Mini Stock Tour and Oxford Plains Speedway officials.
After a lot of last-minute planning for the event due to COVID-19, mother nature threw a wrench at officials and forced them to alter the weekend on the fly. All of Saturday’s program was moved to Sunday morning at 10:00 a.m., prior to the originally scheduled Oxford 250 race day festivities. Even after squeezing two days’ worth of racing in one afternoon, the checkered flag waved on the main event before 10:00 p.m.
For improvising on the fly and providing two great shows in one day at a crown jewel event, Oxford Plains Speedway has been named the Tilton Clutch Performer of the Month for July.
