Performing in the clutch separates the best drivers from the pack. When the laps are counting down and the lights are shining brightest, the top racers thrive under pressure. Each month during the 2020 season, Tilton Engineering will honor a “Clutch Performer of the Month” from the world of short track racing.
The winner of the Tilton Engineering Clutch Performer of the Month Award for the month of September is…
Joey Polewarczyk, Jr.
Super Late Models
A surefire Race of the Year candidate came out of the Granite State Pro Stock Series event at Star Speedway in September. Hudson, NH drivers Joey Polewarczyk and Derek Griffith put on a battle for the ages, which culminated with a photo finish.
Polewarczyk and Griffth battled side-by-side for the final 17 laps of the event, with neither driver able to gain much of an advantage at the quarter-mile oval. When it was all said and done, Polewarczyk edged out Grifith at the line to claim the win and the GSPSS points lead.
For his late-race heroics while battling his fellow hometown driver, “Joey Pole” has been named the Tilton Clutch Performer of the Month for September. Polewarczyk will receive a $250 product certificate from Tilton Engineering for his clutch performance.
