Fifteen years ago, the best show in racing was the Pro Cup Series. On this date in 2005, Shane Huffman bested a field that included the likes of Clay Rogers, Bobby Gill, Steve Wallace, Mike Garvey, George Brunnhoelzl, III and other memorable names at South Georgia Motorsports Park.

1978 – AJ Foyt wins a USAC Stock Car race in College Station, Texas over Bobby Allison. Foyt won 41 times in a USAC Stock Car, and this was one of the later wins of his career.
1989 – Bobby Gill smoked the All Pro Field at Five Flags Speedway over Rick Crawford and Ted Musgrave.
1989 – Mike Ewanitsko wins for the first time in his career in a Modified at Martinsville. He would become an ace of the paper clip after he won three of his last five starts at the Virginia track in the late 90’s and 2000’s.
2011 – Jay Fogleman wins a PASS South race at in Anderson Motor Speedway (SC) over Preston Peltier and Grant Davidson.
2011 – Just up the road at Hickory Motor Speedway (NC), Brennan Poole dominated to the UARA race.
