The final week of points racing lies ahead for NASCAR Whelen All-American Series competitors and after a near three-way deadlock for the past two weeks, Matt Bowling enters the final week with the advantage.

After making seven starts in four days last week, Bowling picked up two victories, one at Southern National Motorsports Park (NC) on Saturday night and the other at East Carolina Motor Speedway (NC) Sunday afternoon to raise his points total to 678. With Keith Rocco (665 points) and Ty Majeski (661) having solid but winless weekends, Bowling has increased his lead to 13 over Rocco, while Majeski sits 17 points back.

Bowling controls his own destiny heading into the upcoming race weekend, needing just one win in a pair of 75-lap Late Model Stock Car races at South Boston Speedway (VA) to clinch the national title. For Rocco and Majeski, the situation is a bit more complex.

Rocco has a chance at the title if Bowling does not score a victory on Saturday. Rocco would still need to win at Stafford Motor Speedway (CT) on Friday followed by a win Saturday at the New London-Waterford Speedbowl (CT), needing at least 18 starters to earn maximum points in both races.

It is much the same for Ty Majeski, who would need two wins in a twin bill at Elko Speedway (MN) on Saturday. He too needs Bowling to go winless and for Rocco to have no more than one victory on the weekend.
