Austin Theriault has signed with Shigeaki Hattori Racing (HRE) to run the No. 1 Toyota in 14 NASCAR K & N Pro Series East races for the 2016 season.

Theriault ran 14 races over the past three seasons in the NASCAR Xfinity, Camping World Truck, and ARCA Series for three different teams and manufacturers. Now Theriault has a place to call home for an entire season with HRE. “I’m thrilled to be part of this new team and we have our sights on running well and challenging for the K & N East championship this season,” said Theriault.

“After being sidelined for four truck series races last season, from injuries sustained from the Las Vegas truck race accident, I knew I wanted to focus on a full-time team effort and learn as much as I can for my long-term race development. Hattori’s team and the K & N East Series will provide that, I’m especially looking forward to the three road courses on the schedule. It’s a style of racing I’ve never competed in and with Shigeaki’s open wheel experience, this will be an education for me,” continued the Maine native.

The next race on the K & N Series East schedule is Saturday, March 26th at Greenville Pickens Speedway (Easley, SC), a half-mile semi-banked oval track. “Austin is a smart driver who gives great feedback on what the car is doing. This is going to be a great season for all of us,” said John Monsam, HRE crew chief. Monsam has amassed eight truck Series wins and two ARCA wins over his career calling races from the pit box.
