Eighteen year old up and coming NASCAR driver, Clayton Green of Marble Falls, TEXAS, announced today that he will be debuting in the 2016 NASCAR K&N Pro East starting February 14th at New Smyrna Speedway for Florida Speedweeks in his family owned race car. Green is coming off of a “David and Goliath” Season in 2015 from racing in the NASCAR K&N Series West. He had outstanding finishes against million dollar teams with his family car operation last year which put him on the map for young racers to watch coming up to the big leagues. Green pulled off the nearly impossible in his first season, against the well funded and more experienced competition with pure gumption and guts, bringing in solid finishes – including a 7th at Meridian Speedway in Idaho, a 12th place finish at Roseville, California and 18th place finish in Phoenix. Green is positioning himself now to take on the even tougher K&N East Series in NASCAR this year with his own team to start off this season with a bang and go for the 2016 Rookie Title.

It’s unprecedented in this day and age for a single family owned team to be able to run competitively in NASCAR’s top three series, such as the K&N Series and the Greens have been able to pull this off successfully Texas style – with hard work, good old fashioned ingenuity, plus Clayton’s raw talent and strong faith. Defeating the giants would mean taking the one good car they have on a modest budget and going up against multi-car well funded teams, with even bigger fields than he raced with last season – making him a modern day David taking on many Goliaths.

Green is looking forward to this new challenge. “I am excited about moving into the K&N East Series this year. I know it’s going to be tougher competition, but I am confident in our abilities. We might be the little guy, but we are strong and have great people around us and a great car. I know that if I can go out there and show what we can do with what little we have we are going to turn some heads.” said Green.
