Rising to the challenge is what separates a top-notch driver from the rest of the pack. Whether it’s dominating a race, going on a winning streak or sealing a win with a late-race pass, drivers slowly rise to the top of the field and make a name for themselves.
That’s why the FK Rod Ends, who has nearly 10,000 combinations of rod ends and spherical bearings available and carefully crafts their products, is proud to honor a monthly “Team FK Driver of the Month” from the short track ranks of America on Speed51.com. Each month, an esteemed panel of short track industry insiders will vote on which driver had the most success on the track. The driver with the most votes will then be the “Team FK Driver of the Month” and will receive a $25 product certificate to use at FK Rod Ends. At the end of the 2019 season, the driver that received the most votes throughout the season will then be the “Team FK Driver of the Year” and will be awarded a (to be determined) prize from FK Rod Ends. The winner of the “Team FK Driver of the Month” for the month of March is…
Super Late Models
Two Super Late Model races. Two victories. That was the story for rising star Giovanni Bromante during the month of March as he made his first foray into Super Late Model racing following a serious back injury last October.
After months of rehabilitation, Bromante was cleared to get back behind the wheel of a race car. The 15-year-old Long Islander’s first race back behind the wheel came at the Rattler 250, a race in which he would be making his Super Late Model debut with Anthony Campi Racing.
At the end of 250 laps, “Gio” was in victory lane, celebrating the biggest win of his young career with the famed rattlesnake around his neck.
On his way to victory lane, Bromante out-dueled two of the nation’s most accomplished racers, who had combined to win the previous three Rattler 250’s. He swapped the lead with former NASCAR Xfinity Series driver Ty Majeski throughout the race, then held off current NASCAR Gander Outdoor Truck Series driver Harrison Burton in the closing laps for the win.
As if things could not get better for the young driver, he followed his Rattler 250 performance up with another big win in the first Blizzard Series race at Five Flags Speedway just two weeks later. After being involved in a late caution, he drove his way back through the field, taking the lead following a restart with 10 laps to go and checking out to his second Super Late Model win in as many starts.
With two wins in two starts since coming back from injury, Bromante has shown he will be a force to be reckoned with duing the 2019 Southern Super Series season as he solidifies himself as one of the next young stars.
For his outstanding performance after coming back from injury and winning his first two career Super Late Model starts, Giovanni Bromante has been named FK Rod Ends Driver of the Month for March 2019.
Other drivers receiving votes this month include: Brandon Sheppard, Bubba Pollard, Logan Seavey and Matt Hirschman.
