Rising to the challenge is what separates a top-notch driver from the rest of the pack. Whether it’s dominating a race, going on a winning streak or sealing a win with a late race pass, drivers slowly rise to the top of the field and make a name for themselves.
That’s why the FK Rod Ends, who has nearly 10,000 combinations of rod ends and spherical bearings available and carefully crafts their products, is proud to honor a monthly “Team FK Driver of the Month” from the short track ranks of America on Speed51.com. Each month, an esteemed panel of short track industy insiders will vote on which driver had the most success on the track. The driver with the most votes will then be the “Team Fk Driver of the Month” and will receive a $25 product certificate to use at FK Rod Ends. At the end of the 2016 season, the driver that received the most votes throughout the season will then be the “Team FK Driver of the Year” and will be awarded $250 product certificate to FK Rod Ends. The winner of the “Team FK Driver of the Month” for the month of July goes to……
The FK Rod Ends Driver of the Month award is being posthumously awarded to legendary Sprint Car and Midget racer Bryan Clauson. The 27-year-old Noblesville, Indiana native passed away on August 7 due to injuries sustained in a Midget race at the Belleville Midget Nationals in Nebraska.
Clauson was a registered organ donor and was directly responsible for saving the lives of five people. In the days immediately after his passing, Clauson’s family decided to continue on his goal of “Chasing 200” but instead of chasing 200 races in one year like the original plan of the Circular Insanity Tour, Clauson’s family changed the goal to 200 new organ donors in his honor.
Now, exactly one month later, 3,761 new organ donors have registered in his honor, which translates to a total of 18,805 lives saved.
The initial goal was 200, and Clauson’s fans have far surpassed that number. That shows the true impact Clauson had on his fans and the racing community, and the legacy that he will leave behind as a race car driver and a person.
Clauson’s stats off the race track as a result of his untimely passing are far more meaningful than any stat achieved on the race track. For that reason, Clauson has been named the FK Driver of the Month for August.
