That will conclude our coverage for today and we will be back with you for all of tomorrow’s action right here on Speed51.com.

Goodnight!

Seeing as how this weather seems like a case of deja vu from the 2011 edition of the Rattler weekend, track owner and promoter John Dykes spoke to the drivers and crews in the driver’s meeting about the option of running the Rattler on a different weekend in coming years. And in the words of one crew member, “This is your party, we’re just coming to hang out with you.”

With that support of the racers behind him Dykes gained more confidence and will most likely not employ a date change for the 2013 running.

3:41
After a brief driver’s meeting we have been informed that all on track activity for the day has been washed out. We will qualify and race both the Pro and Super Late Models tomorrow. The Pro Late Model Rattler 125 has been shortened to 100 laps and the purse has been lowered to $3500 to win.

Gates will open at 8:00 AM (CST) and the driver’s meeting will begin at 9:30 AM. The first race of the day, the Super Late Model Rattler 250, will roll off at 2:00 PM sharp.

3:12
Clay Rogers is one of the most accomplished racers in the South. He is a multiple time USAR Pro Cup Champ, winner of the 2006 Snowball Derby and has made numerous starts in the NASCAR Camping World Trucks Series and Nationwide Series.

Comment From MMS

Is Clay Rogers the racer that’s never raced at SAS before? Where does he usually race?

3:03
We will have updates on the rest of today/tomorrow’s schedule after the conclusion of the meeting.
3:02

New entries for today, who didn’t practice with us yesterday, are Augie Grill in both the Pro and Super Late Models and Korey Ruble and Sam “Shanky” Smith in the Pro Late Models.
9:42
At the driver’s meeting teams were told thanks to Rheem that the Pro Late Model race will happen today. Of course we will try today with weather in the area, but if for some reason if it was to get cancelled due to rain it would be run tomorrow after the Rattler 250 and it would likely be shortened to 100 laps.
9:41
We are watching the weather map here and we are currently between lines of storms. There is still a chance that we will squeeze through and stay dry.
