LAKE VIEW, SC — Steve Surniak of Mooresville, NC took advantage of early contact between the leaders and went on to take the Carolina Sprint Tour win Saturday night at Lake View Motor Speedway.

John Frutchey and Mike Leraas started on the front row after claiming heat race wins. But, as they battled for the lead at the start of the A-Main, they made contact in turn two causing both to spin. Surniak assumed the lead from that point and led the rest of the way to claim the win over Greg Smyre, Duane Moore, Jeff Taylor, and Leraas.

Willie Milliken set the fast time in Late Model qualifying with lap of 16.993 seconds and led flag-to-flag for his seventh win of the season. Steven Blanton came home second over Dean Bowen, Johnathon Ward, and Chris Miller.

Dillon, SC’s Michael Butler grabbed the lead when race long leader Chandler Fowler spun on the final lap and held on to take the $500 to win, Pure Stock Special. It was Butler’s third win of the season. Sam Hardee, Buck Causey, Tim Lovett, and Johnathan Lane completed the top five.

Chris Powers dominated from the pole and led every lap for his third Super Street win of the year. Greg Cain finished second, over points leader Scott Lewis, David Royal, and Donovan Jackson.

Glenn Register took home a controversial win over 19 U-CARs, following contact with Richard “Rowdy” Seals. The two would make contact with less than five laps to go allowing Seals to take the lead. But, Register returned the favor a lap later, sending Seals into the wall on the front stretch. Following Register at the finish were Mark Dean, Steven Herring, James Smith, and Derek Kemper.

The Bell & Bell Vintage Cars were in action again with Harry Floyd taking the Sportsman win over Joey Babson and Jim Wilmore. Sherman Garris scored another 6-Cylinder win and Carl Smith was the Senior winner. Jason Floyd was the Modified winner over Dean Cumbee and Cameron Norris, IV was the Pro Modified winner.

Lake View Motor Speedway will be in action again on Saturday night, October 20 with double points for all divisions, featuring the Late Models, Super Street Special, Pure Stock, Sharp Mini Late Models, UCARs and 4-Cylinders.
