Myrtle Beach Speedway (SC) announced its cancellation of the Super Late Model portion of the 4th Annual Icebreaker Friday afternoon, citing low entrant numbers.

“Due to the low number of entrants and teams committed to Florida’s Speedweek events, we have decided to cancel the Super Late Model portion of the IceBreaker,” Myrtle Beach Speedway posted on Facebook. “With that being said however, we are still excited about the “4th Annual IceBreaker!” Great car counts are expected for the Late Models, Carolina Mini Stock Challenge, and Street Stocks.”

The Late Model Stocks will now headline the event, running a 125-lap feature.

The Late Model Stock portion of the IceBreaker has developed into the season-opening event for competitors in the Carolinas and Virginia who run those cars.  Previous winners of the IceBreaker 125-lap Late Model Stock feature include Tommy Lemons, Jr., Lee Pulliam, and Timothy Peters.

The Myrtle Beach IceBreaker will be held February 1-2 at the 0.538-mile oval.  Grandstand gates will open at 10:00 a.m. ET on Friday and 12:00 Noon ET on Saturday, with racing scheduled to begin at 2:30 p.m. ET on Saturday afternoon.

Pit gates will open for competitors at 9:00 a.m. on Friday and 8:00 a.m. on Saturday.  Interested competitors should visit for more information regarding the 4th Annual IceBreaker.
