Summer Thunder TV Returns With Nearly 70 Short Track Races

Speed51 is bringing the thunder back to the Speed51 Network this summer.  Summer Thunder TV presented by PFC Brakes will return in 2019 with nearly 70 short track races scheduled to be broadcast live during a 12-week period.


Once again, Summer Thunder TV will be available exclusively to Speed51 Network premium subscribers.  With a monthly or yearly subscription, motorsports enthusiasts will be able to watch all 68 races currently on the schedule at no additional cost.


Throughout the 12-week broadcast schedule, Speed51 will showcase short track racing from 33 race tracks in 17 states and one Canadian province.


“Summer Thunder TV is something our entire staff looks forward to every year now,” said Speed51 Editor Brandon Paul.  “While this intense programming schedule requires a lot of work and planning, we love being able to showcase all of this racing to fans all over the globe.  We hope that race fans tune in for the events they can’t attend and we look forward to seeing them at the track for events they can attend in their region.”




Summer Thunder TV will kick this Thursday night, June 20 with the Flip Merwin Memorial for Super Late Models at State Park Speedway.  That race will be the first of five races to be streamed live during the opening week of Summer Thunder.


Friday, June 21 will feature a doubleheader with the Blizzard Series/Southern Super Series at Five Flags Speedway (FL) and the ULTIMATE Mid-Ohio Valley Super Late Models at I-77 Speedway (WV).


One day later on Saturday, June 22, another doubleheader is on tap with 100 laps of Pro Late Model racing at the historic Fairgrounds Speedway Nashville (TN) and Pro Trucks hitting the dirt at Volusia Speedway Park (FL).


After a few days off, Summer Thunder TV will return on Wednesday, June 26 with one of the biggest Tour-type Modified races of the season.  For the first time, Speed51 Network premium subscribers will be able to watch Open Wheel Wednesday featuring the Tri-Track Open Modified Series and NEMA Midgets at Seekonk Speedway.


The ULTIMATE Northeast Super Late Model Series will be in the spotlight on Friday, June 28 as they visit Clifton County Speedway in Pennsylvania.


A quadruple-header of short track races will be streamed live on the Speed51 Network on Saturday, June 29.  The JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Race at Anderson Speedway (IN), the ULTIMATE Super Late Model Series at Lake View Motor Speedway (SC) and the ARCA Midwest Tour at Rockford Speedway (IL) will be featured that night.


For those wanting to get a glimpse of racing action on the West Coast, the SRL Southwest Tour Series and SRL Modified Series show at Kern County Raceway will also be streamed live to complete the quadruple-header.


Six days later, on Friday, July 5, Summer Thunder TV will be in Lee, New Hampshire as the Granite State Pro Stock Series tackles Lee USA Speedway.


The Independence Day Weekend will get even bigger on Saturday, July 6 with a live broadcast of the PRA Tours Super Late Models, Southern Modified Racing Series, Southeast Limited Late Models, 602 Super Limited and 602 Modifieds from Caraway Speedway (NC).


That’s not all that is on tap for that night.  The Southern Super Series Super Late Models will be showcased in a live broadcast from Montgomery Motor Speedway (AL).


A special Sunday event for the Dirt Kings Late Model Tour at Eagle Valley Speedway (WI) will be streamed live the following night.


The FASTRAK Racing Series will have their first Summer Thunder TV broadcast on Friday, July 12 when they visit I-77 Speedway in West Virginia.


The competitive Pro Late Model division at Fairgrounds Speedway Nashville will return to Summer Thunder TV on Saturday, July 13.  That night will also feature a huge doubleheader with the RoC Asphalt Modified Series and ISMA Supermodifieds at the beautiful Jukasa Motor Speedway in Ontario.


Summer Thunder TV will go international, or so they say, on Sunday, July 14 with a live broadcast of the Granite State Pro Stock Series at Hudson International Speedway in Hudson, New Hampshire.


The always entertaining Outlaw Kart racing at Millbridge Speedway (NC) will be on Summer Thunder TV Wednesday night, July 17 before we head to the state of Vermont for the Vermont Governor’s Cup featuring NASCAR Xfinity driver Christopher Bell at Thunder Road on Thursday, July 18.


One night later on Friday, July 19, the Southern Super Series/Blizzard Series Super Late Models return to the Speed51 Network for Round 3 of the 2019 season.  A broadcast of the Dirt Kings Late Model Tour at Outagamie Speedway will also be available that night.


On Saturday, July 20, the final tune-up for the FASTRAK World Championship will be streamed live from Virginia Motor Speedway.  Fans will be able to watch live as the FASTRAK Pro Late Models have on last chance to get ready before the big $50,000 dance in September.


Summer Thunder TV returns to State Park Speedway on Friday, July 26 for the Larry Detjens Memorial for Super Late Model racers.  The rescheduled ARCA Midwest Tour race on Saturday, July 27 at State Park will also be streamed live on the Speed51 Network.


Speaking of July 27, that day may wind up being the busiest day in the history of  Five short track racers are scheduled to be streamed live that night including the SBM 125 at Star Speedway, FUEL Racing Series at Cherokee Speedway (SC), Wheelman Racing Series at Citrus County Speedway (FL) and the New Hampshire Governor’s Cup 150 at White Mountain Motorsports Park (NH).


A few nights later on Wednesday, July 31, Summer Thunder TV will return to Millbridge Speedway to once again show off the dirt-slinging Outlaw Kart action at the 1/6-mile oval.


Did we say that July 27 was the busiest day in history?  Well, you can put Saturday, August 3 right next to it, as five races will be streamed live that night on the Speed51 Network.


The night will include Carolina Clash Super Late Models at Cherokee Speedway, ULTIMATE Northeast Super Late Models at Hagerstown Speedway (MD), Pro Late Models at Montgomery Motor Speedway, Granite State Pro Stocks at the New London-Waterford Speedbowl (CT) and ACT Late Models at White Mountain Motorsports Park.


A Dirt Late Model doubleheader is on tap for Friday, August 9 with the Dirt Kings Late Model Tour at Luxemburg Speedway (WI) and ULTIMATE Northeast Super Late Models at Path Valley Speedway (PA).


Saturday, August 10 will showcase the Pro Late Models at Nashville and the Bullring Bash Modifieds and Legends at White Mountain Motorsports Park.


Summer Thunder TV will begin to hit the homestretch on Tuesday, August 13 with a live broadcast of the Carolina Clash Super Late Models at Carolina Speedway (NC).


Two night later on Thursday, August 15 it’s going to get hot as “The Scorcher” at Volunteer Speedway (TN) will be streamed live on the Speed51 Network.


Round 3 of the Allen Turner Pro Late Model season at Five Flags Speedway will be streamed live on Friday, August 16.  That same night, the ARCA Midwest Tour Howie Lettow Classic at Madison International Speedway will also be shown on Summer Thunder TV.


A return trip to Cherokee Speedway is in store for Saturday, August 17 as the Dirt Cup Challenge Modifieds come to town.


The third and final Summer Thunder TV broadcast of the season from Millbridge Speedway will take place on Wednesday, August 21 before we return to State Park Speedway on Thursday, August 22 for the Lodi Memorial.


The FUEL Racing Series Late Models will then have the Summer Thunder TV spotlight at Cherokee Speedway on Saturday, August 24.


From there, we’ll make our way back up north to Spencer Speedway (NY) to showcase the ground-pounding Race of Champions (RoC) Asphalt Modified Series and RoC Late Models.


The final weekend on the Summer Thunder TV schedule will begin with a live broadcast of the Granite State Pro Stock Series at Star Speedway on Friday, September 6.


For the second year in a row, Summer Thunder TV will come to an end with the prestigious Star Classic for the ISMA Supermodifieds, 350 Supermodifieds, NEMA Midgets and NEMA Lites on Saturday, September 7.


An addition to the broadcast schedule that night will also see the Dirt Kings Late Model Tour race at Wilmot Raceway (WI) streamed live.
