Speed51.com is kicking off the summer season with a live broadcast of the Flip Merwin Memorial at State Park Speedway (WI) on the summer solstice. Thursday’s broadcast is a part of the 2018 Summer Thunder TV presented by PFC Brakes lineup, which will feature over 40 live race broadcasts for Speed51 Network premium subscribers.
The Flip Merwin Memorial began back in 2003 to commemorate Flip Merwin, a former snowmobile racer, pit crew worker and race fan who passed away due to a snowmobile racing accident earlier that year.
Since its inception, the Flip Merwin Memorial has attracted drivers like NASCAR K&N Pro Series West 2017 Rookie of the Year Derek Kraus, who won back in 2016, and crew chief of NASCAR K&N Pro Series East champion Harrison Burton, Chris Wimmer, who won in 2007.
Race fans who are unable to make the trip to Wausau, Wisconsin can still watch the race live for the second year in a row on Summer Thunder TV. The series will also broadcast three other events at the ¼-mile oval in July and August.
More races are expected to be added throughout the summer months. Tracks and tours interested in having their races included on the Summer Thunder TV schedule are encouraged to contact Bob Dillner at [email protected].
The full schedule of current races can be viewed by clicking here.
All that is needed to watch all of these races is a monthly ($7.99) or yearly ($69.99) subscription to the Speed51 Network.
In addition to the live streams, Speed51 Network subscribers also receive access to thousands of on-demand racing videos. Yearly subscribers receive a 10% discount on all pay-per-view videos streams that aren’t included in the Summer Thunder TV program.
