Street Stock drivers from around the country will visit Dillon Motor Speedway (SC) and ring in the new year with the 9th annual New Year’s BASH, January 4-5.

This year, for the first time ever, the prestigious 109-lap Street Stock race will be filmed for a national television broadcast on MAVTV.  The tape-delayed broadcast will air February 13, 2019.  In addition to the MAVTV broadast, race fans will be able to watch a live video stream of the event on the Speed51 Network by purchasing a monthly or yearly subscription.

With excitement building for the event, Dillon Motor Speedway has already received entries from drivers in Maine, Florida, Wisconsin, North Carolina and many places in-between.

Last year, the event was hindered by a winter storm and had to be rescheduled, but this year’s forecast is looking to be dry, clear and sunny. In 2018, it was Concord, North Carolina’s Jeff Melton taking the checkered flag. Two drivers to keep an eye on in 2019 are Gary Ledbetter Jr. and Darlington, South Carolina’s Ricky Locklair Jr. They’re both looking to add another New Year’s BASH trophy to their race shops.

Dillon Motor Speedway is expecting more than 100 cars for this event. While the Street Stock race will serve as the main event, other divisions will hit the banks as well. Joining the Street Stocks include the Carolina Mini Stock Challenge, Challenger AR Series, UCAR/Pure Stocks and the V6 Bangers.

Rotating practice will be held from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, January 4.

On Saturday, January 5, the pit gates will open at 9 a.m., followed by practice at 10 a.m. Qualifying will begin at 12 p.m., and the racing action will get underway at 2 p.m.

Grandstand tickets are $15, and kids 11-year-old and younger will enter the grandstands for free.
