Several cash bonuses are up for grabs for competitors in the TRD Micro Showdown at Millbridge Speedway (NC), thanks to sponsors who have stepped up to sponsor awards and segments of the two-day Micro Sprint showcase on November 5-6.
The first-time event for the Micro Sprints at the Salisbury, North Carolina facility brings an exciting new brand of racing to the 1/6-mile oval, best known for Outlaw Karts and its annual crown jewel event, the Speed51 Open, each May.
“It takes a lot of support from sponsors to put on a major event like the TRD Micro Showdown,” said Millbridge Speedway co-owner Ashly Burnett. “We are very thankful to these sponsors for their support, allowing us to give back to our competitors with several awards throughout this event.”
On Tuesday, the Non-Winged Micro Sprints will headline Hyper Racing Chassis Night, with $2,000 going to the feature winner. Tuesday’s quick-time winner in qualifying will also receive $100 courtesy of Lineman Motorsports.
Wednesday’s Cook Out Night features the Winged Micro Sprints, paying $5,000 to the victor. Wednesday’s fast-time award will pay $200 presented by Adams Performance.
There will also be $100 bonuses for heat race winners and qualifier winners during the two-day event. Heat races are presented by Dyno-Action, Swindell Speed Lab, Simpson Race Products, HMS Motorsport, Plumbing Agents, Engler and Barb and Al Weltor. The qualifier races, which will set the fields for the A and B Mains following heat races, are sponsored by K1 RaceGear.
Millbridge’s traditional Outlaw Kart divisions will also be in action throughout the TRD Micro Showdown. Sponsors for those divisions include Victory Lane Karting, Lead 2 Real Estate Group and Coen McDaniel Racing.
The fun doesn’t stop when the racing ends, especially on Tuesday night. Once racing concludes on Hyper Racing Chassis Night, there will be an after party presented by Hoosier Racing Tires on the HMS Party Deck.
Race fans unable to make the trip to Millbridge Speedway on November 5-6 for the TRD Micro Showdown can purchase a pay-per-view ticket to watch the event live on Speed51 by clicking here.
