Speed51’s Short Track America, a 12-race television program shining a spotlight on short track racing in America, successfully debuted on MAVTV Wednesday night.  Episode #1 of Speed51’s Short Track America featured a one-hour broadcast of the Deep South Cranes Blizzard Series season opener at Five Flags Speedway (FL).


Race fans nationwide chimed in throughout the night on social media, offering positive feedback for the new series on MAVTV.


“That was absolutely the best race and best coverage I’ve seen all year,” said Ronald Jensen (@JettSett56) on Twitter.  “Hope this is around for a long time. Great job.”


The opening round of the Blizzard Series at Five Flags featured plenty of entertainment for those watching Speed51’s Short Track America.  The tape-delayed broadcast featured multiple camera angles, in-car cameras and exclusive interviews following a highly-publicized confrontation between Stephen Nasse and Donnie Wilson.


“I thought the coverage was really good,” Lance Cummings (@ELCummings) said on Twitter.  “I like the in-car cameras.  The fight wasn’t bad either. Will definitely tune in again.”


Other viewers chimed in throughout the night with comments such as, “Loved the coverage!” and “AWESOME STUFF!”


Those who missed the first three airings of Speed51’s Short Track America will have an additional chance to watch Episode 1 on Wednesday, August 8 at 5 a.m. ET.


A new episode of Speed51’s Short Track America will air next Wednesday, August 8 at 7 p.m. ET on MAVTV.  Episode 2 will showcase one of the nation’s premier Outlaw Kart events, the Speed51 Open at Millbridge Speedway (NC).


Episode 2 is also scheduled to feature additional airings at 10 p.m. on August 8, as well as 4 a.m. August 9 and 5 a.m. August 15.


Future Short Track America broadcasts include Blizzard Series Round #2 (August 15), Blizzard Series Round #3 (August 29), Short Track Super Series Blast at the Beach at Georgetown Speedway (October 10), Speed51 Super Select at Lucas Oil Raceway (October 17), USAC Silver Crown at Lucas Oil Raceway (October 31), Blizzard Series Round #4 (November 7) and the Allen Turner Pro Late Model finale at Five Flags Speedway (November 21).


The Milk Bowl at Thunder Road and Keith Kunz Give-Back Classic at Millbridge Speedway will also be featured on Speed51’s Short Track America.  Air dates for those two events will be announced at a later time.
