It may only be the second weekend of January, but Speed51 will still be busy this weekend with short track racing coverage inside and outside. Currently, Speed51 is scheduled to cover at least three different events, including a big go-kart race in Florida, an annual motorsports show in Maine, and a season-ending banquet in North Carolina.
On the race track, Speed51’s focus this weekend will be on the $5,000-to-win Great Southern Equipment 300 during the Winter Kart Nationals at East Bay Raceway Park. This one-of-a-kind go-kart race will consist of a 300-lap main event for the Stock Heavy division, including pit stops and everything else that comes with a long-distance motorsports event.
On Saturday, Speed51 will provide a live broadcast of all feature races beginning at approximately 4 p.m. ET on the Speed51 Network. Monthly and yearly subscribers will be able to watch the live broadcast at no additional cost.
From there, Speed51 will move indoors to the 32nd Annual Northeast Motorsports Expo in Augusta, Maine. The annual motorsports show gives fans their first look at many of the race cars that they’ll be watching compete in the Northeast throughout the 2020 season. According to show promoter Steve Perry, he’s expecting upwards of 90 different race cars to be on display. Local race tracks and sanctioning bodies will also be on hand to showcase everything they have going on during the upcoming season.
As for Speed51, we’ll be on hand with our video cameras to talk to drivers about their 2020 plans, as well as bring you behind-the-scenes with everything that’s going on during the event. On Friday and Saturday, Speed51 will also be providing updates from the show via our live Race Day Now coverage.
Lastly, the Speed51 staff in the Carolinas will be getting dressed up to attend the yearly Millbridge Speedway banquet in North Carolina. In addition to filming exclusive content for the Speed51 Network, our staff will be providing updates and photos from the banquet on social media.
Don’t miss out on any of the action by subscribing to the Speed51 Network and following @speed51dotcom on Twitter for the latest updates from the short track racing world.
