Fans of the Pro Late Model Racing scene along the Gulf Coast will be in for a treat this weekend, with a doubleheader of racing action between Five Flags Speedway (FL) and Montgomery Motor Speedway (AL). Those unable to make the trip to either venue this weekend will still be able to watch all of the racing with a Premium Membership to the Speed51 Network.
Speed51 will broadcast both events in the Pro Late Model twinbill this weekend to a worldwide audience, as some of the top Late Model racers in the region will battle it out over the two nights.
There will be plenty on the line over the course of the two 100-lap races. Friday’s race at Five Flags is the second round for the Allen Turner Pro Late Models season, building to the prestigious Snowflake 100 in December. Colby Howard leads that points chase after winning the season opener in April.
Saturday’s event will be part of Montgomery’s Show Me the Money Pro Late Model Series. Through two races, Augie Grill and Casey Roderick are tied in that points battle, with Grill winning the season-opening Alabama 200 and Howard holding off Roderick and Grill to win the most recent event.
There will also be some extra money on the line for competitors electing to compete in both ends of the doubleheader. The top average finisher between the two races will receive a $1,000 bonus, adding extra incentive for racers looking to double up on the weekend.
