Speed51.com has always been a go-to destination for everything that’s short track racing. Now, Tuesday nights on Speed51 have become the night for short track eSports racing on the World Wide Web. With regular series and special events dotting the calendar these last few months, Speed51 is getting set to host the next special event from the Elite Racing Leagues.
After the popularity of Street Stocks opening the Speed51 Elite Snowball Derby back in December, we at Speed51 as well as the folks at Elite Racing Leagues have been eyeing another opportunity to race this popular form of sim competition. Now, that date has been set.
The Speed51 Elite Street Stock Nationals is set to rumble on Tuesday night, March 3 on the sim version of Florida’s New Smyrna Speedway. This show, open to all participants, will see sim racers and real-world drivers squaring off against each other in fixed-setup Street Stocks for a night of racing beginning with heats and ending with the final A-main showdown.
The night will start with a one-hour practice session at 7:30 p.m. ET, with qualifying beginning at 8:30 p.m. Following time trial qualifying, there will be a series of 10-lap heat races to help set the field. Following the heats will be a 20-lap B-main where the final spots will be awarded for the feature. In all, 24 cars will take the green flag for the 75-lap A-main which will conclude the night.
There is a $5 entry fee for participation, with 100% of the fee going to the event purse. The top 10 finishers in the A-main will take a certain share of the final purse.
A broadcast of the Speed51 Elite Street Stock Nationals will be available for free on Speed51.com, with coverage beginning with qualifying at 8:30 p.m. ET.
