Cochran Motor Speedway is set to reopen this weekend, May 23-24, featuring the Crate Racin’ USA Late Models. While the grandstands will be closed off for the weekend, fans can still watch all the action live on Speed51 both days.
Pay-per-view tickets are available for both days, $10 for Saturday and $14.99 for Sunday’s racing. A two-day ticket will also be available for $19.99.
This is the first scheduled event for the Georgia track since the World Championships make-up and the Cochran Clash on March 14-15 The Crate Racing USA Late Models will compete for $2,500 both days, while 602 Late Models, Pure Stocks, Bombers, and FWD/440s will join the card Sunday after open practice on Saturday.
“We’re excited to get race cars back on the race track this weekend at Cochran Motor Speedway. Although we’re disappointed that we’ll have to do this without fans in attendance, we’re happy to partner with Speed51 to give fans an opportunity to watch the racing this weekend,” Cochran Motor Speedway owner Chris Martin said. “We hope everybody enjoys the broadcast, and we look forward to hopefully seeing fans back in the grandstands soon.”
Florida racer Kyle Bronson won the World Championships make-up race on March 14, while Wil Herrington won the Cochran Clash for the Crate Late Models the next day. A stacked field of racers were on hand for the event, which included defending FASTRAK Racing Series champion Carson Ferguson and former FASTRAK World Championships winner Logan Roberson.
Proceeds from the pay-per-view broadcast will help offset the cost to hold the event without fans in the grandstands.
