Speed51 & State Park Announce Streaming Agreement

State Park Speedway in Wausau, Wisconsin provides plenty of exciting short track racing on its tight quarter-mile each racing season. Speed51 will broadcast a pair of the track’s marquee Super Late Model events during the 2021 season.

As part of a streaming agreement with State Park Speedway, Speed51 will broadcast the Flip Merwin Memorial on Thursday, June 17 and the Lodi Memorial on Thursday, August 19.  As part of its existing agreement with the TUNDRA Super Late Model Series, Speed51.TV will also be at State Park Speedway for the tour’s event there on Saturday, August 7.

Speed51.TV will broadcast a pair of Super Late Model events from State Park Speedway in 2021, as well as the TUNDRA Super Late Model Series’ visit to the Wisconsin quarter-mile.

“We’re excited to continue our long-standing relationship with State Park Speedway in 2021 and in years to come,” said Speed51 Director of Content Brandon Paul.  “The Flip Merwin Memorial and Lodi Memorial are two great mid-week events that we’re excited to showcase to our national audience on Speed51.TV.”

The Flip Merwin Memorial started in 2003 in honor of Philip “Flip” Merwin, who was killed in a snowmobile racing accident in January of that year.  Along with being a snowmobile racer, Merwin was a pit crew member and stock car racer in the area.  The race in his honor has grown in stature each year, with its 18th running scheduled for this June.

2021 also marks the 13th annual Lodi Memorial, in honor of Wayne “Lodi” Lodholz.  Lodholz won 19 Late Model features at State Park Speedway, including the 1989 Larry Detjens Memorial, before his passing in 2007 at the age of 55.  The Lodi Memorial began in 2009 to commemorate his legacy.
