CONCORD, NC – Speed51.com powered by JEGS revolutionized the live, at-track coverage of short track events throughout North America with its trailblazing Trackside Now text updates in 2007. Now seven years later, 51 has debuted a new-look website that focuses on “100% Short Track Racing” and it will allow 51 the opportunity to introduce another live coverage format that will again bring short track racing to an even wider audience than ever before.
51 TV, a short track racing video network from the Speed51.com, will debut in the coming weeks with live pay-per-view video streaming of short track events. In conjunction with #TheNew51, which debuted on June 2, several tracks and series have already signed up for their events to air on 51 TV. Formal announcements of which big short track events that will air live on 51 TV will be made soon.
With a business model that will benefit the racers, the tracks, the series and the fans of short track racing, 51 TV will bring short track events to all kinds of audiences.
“We are invested in our future and the future of tracks, events and series in short track racing,” said Bob Dillner, owner of Speed51.com and NASCAR TV broadcaster for FOX Sports. “The fans have wanted this for a while, but we needed to build a business model that was beneficial to all. We’ve invested in the equipment to do it right way and we’re excited to bring several events to a large audience that will create additional exposure for marketing partners of tracks, series and the racers themselves.”
51 has partnered with T2 Digital, formally Turn 2 Media, to assist in giving short track fans the most comprehensive and high-tech video product to promote the drivers, tracks, series and sponsors of short track racing. Turn 2 Media is the driving force behind live video streaming from World of Outlaws Sprint Car events through DIRTcar’s Dirtvision, Dirt Late Model events through DirtOnDirt.com, Knoxville Raceway races with TheCushion.com and the Chili Bowl through RacinBoys.com.
“Live video streaming is the future of motorsports media and 51 has always prided itself on being a leader in short track media, so this was the next logical step for us,” said Matt Kentfield, Speed51.com Executive Director. “Turn 2 Media has a longstanding history as the top of the line in video streaming of dirt racing and I know they were excited to work with us on bringing asphalt short track events to a wider audience as well. Our whole staff couldn’t be more proud of Turn 2 Media’s hard work on helping us develop our new website as well as bringing this live video streaming project to life.”
51 TV’s pay-per-view video format will be made affordable for short track fans, but will also benefit the tracks and series in competition. No form of live media will ever replace the at-track product, but with 51 TV, Speed51.com will continue to bring live racing to an audience that otherwise could not have witnessed all the short track action in person.
In addition to the live video streaming, the 51 TV network, will feature video clips, news clips and archived race footage from events all over the short track world.
