Picking the winners of big short track races throughout the country is a tradition that our staff at Speed51.com has enjoyed for many years. With one of the biggest Outlaw Kart events ever being held Wednesday night at Millbridge Speedway, we decided to challenge our staff once again.

This week we asked members of our Speed51.com team, “Who are you picking to win the inaugural Keith Kunz Motorsports Giveback Classic?”

The answers we received varied, but when all the votes were tallied it was Carson Kvapil and Tyler Seavey (five votes) who were named the favorite to win the big race.  Overall, seven different drivers received votes from our panel of 18 experts.

Check out our full list of staff picks for the KKM Giveback Classic below.

Aaron Creed, Speed51.com National Correspondent

Pick: Michael Hubert

Many may be familiar with Tom Hubert for his success as a NASCAR crew member and driver, but in recent years he has been taking home trophies and championships in an Outlaw Kart at facilities such as Millbridge. His nephew Michael has roots in Outlaw Karts, racing against competitors such as Kyle Larson in his youth, and has competed in Sprint Cars and Midgets on dirt out west in the past.

Adam Mackey, Speed51.com Correspondent

Pick: Andrew Wehrli

Those who follow racing at Millbridge Speedway closely know that Andrew Wehrli can get it done. If you are placing your bets now, Wehrli will bring the experience and success into Wednesday’s event that will get him into victory lane.

Bob Dillner, Speed51.com Executive Editor

Pick: Carson Kvapil

He’s been one of the best at Millbridge this year, and I expect the youngster to pick up one of the biggest wins of his career Wednesday night.

Brandon Paul, Speed51.com Editor

Pick: Tyler Seavey

I picked him earlier this year to win the Speed51 Open and he didn’t let me down, so I’m going to stick with the hot hand and predict that Seavey is going to go two-for-two in big races at Millbridge this season.

Casey LaJoie, Speed51.com Southeast Correspondent

Pick: Tyler Seavey

I want to pick the winner, so I’m picking Tyler Seavey.

Connor Sullivan, Speed51.com Northeast Editor

Pick: Carson Kvapil

This youngster has gotten to know practically every bit of red clay at Millbridge. He’s won two straight championships and he’s stacked up a pile of race wins. This is his time to get that big win.

Dakota Geyer, Speed51.com State Editor (IN & MI)

Pick: Mike Wheeler

The Oregon driver won the inaugural Speed51 Open in 2014 and is one of the top Outlaw Kart drivers on the west coast. Look for him to win the inaugural Keith Kunz Giveback Classic and earn a Chili Bowl ride.

Pick: Tyler Seavey

After an impressive Speed51 Open, Seavey has to be the favorite going into the KKM Giveback Classic. Not only could Seavey win at Millbridge, but I think he could win at the Chili Bowl.

Duane Canfield, Speed51.com / MoJo Photos

Pick: Andrew Wehrli

He knows his way around Millbridge as well as anybody and is lightning quick. This could be the win that really puts him map.

Elgin Traylor, Speed51.com Southeast Correspondent

Pick: Karsyn Elledge

Elledge has a lot of laps and an Open victory at Millbridge under her belt. Going the distance is the first step, and if she can do that she’ll likely be in contention.

Evan Canfield, Speed51.com / MoJo Photos

Pick: Carson Kvapil

Carson Kvapil has ran a ton of laps at Millbridge Speedway, including winning a championship this season. He’s one of the best at the North Carolina short track and I think he will be able to take his talent to the next level wheeling a Keith Kunz Motorsports midget.

Jeremy Anders, Speed51.com Northwest Editor

Pick: Carson Kvapil

I drafted him earlier this year on my Speed51.com Short Track Draft because of how good this young driver has been. He’s showcased it this year at Millbridge by leading the points and winning races. Kvapil will take home the win and ride this Wednesday.

Kevin Peters, Speed51.com Southwest Editor

Pick: Tyler Seavey

I am going to go with Tyler Seavey. He has the experience and success needed to bring home the bacon at Millbridge.

Madison Mabry, Speed51.com Southeast Correspondent

Pick: Tyler Seavey

Tyler Seavey proved that he was one to beat at Millbridge in May when he picked up the Speed51 Open win. I think he will be going for win number two and an opportunity to wheel a Keith Kunz midget at the Chili Bowl alongside his brother, Logan.

Mark Keeler, Speed51.com Operations Manager

Pick: Karyn Elledge

She was just hitting her stride taking down two wins before leaving for college and was looking forward to getting back in the kart for the KKM Giveback Classic. She’s also looked strong in practice and qualifying leading into Wednesday’s main event.

Patrick Hahe, Speed51.com Great Lakes Editor

Pick: Carson Kvapil

Kvapil topped the points at Millbridge in 2018, so I expect his consistency and knowledge of the track will score him the victory Wednesday night.

Rob Blount, Speed51.com Associate Editor

Pick: Andrew Wehrli

Wehrli has been so fast lately at Millbridge Speedway, and it hasn’t mattered if he’s been running the top or the bottom. The key for Wehrli is putting the whole race together, especially in a race that is 30 laps longer than a normal distance race at Millbridge. If Wehrli is able to put it all together, he’ll be one of the drivers to beat for that coveted Keith Kunz Motorsports ride.

Ryan McCollough, Speed51.com Southeast Correspondent

Pick: Jesse Colwell

With one victory already at Millbridge in 2018, Jesse Colwell knows how to get it done. With the coveted KKM ride at stake, my money is on the outlaw from the left coast to slide job his way to victory lane.

Tom Ryan, Speed51.com Digital Manager

Pick: Carson Kvapil

The kid has run Millbridge for a few years branched out into Late Models this year. That will only give him more confidence to run fast and to the front at Millbridge.
