Picking the winners of big short track races throughout the country is a tradition that our staff at Speed51.com has enjoyed for many years. With one of the biggest Super Late Model events on the west coast being held this weekend at The Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, we decided to challenge our staff once again.

This week we asked members of our Speed51.com team, “Who are you picking to win the Senator’s Cup Fall Classic?”

The answers we received varied, but when all the votes were tallied it was Jeremy Doss (nine votes) who was named the favorite to win the big race.  Overall, five different drivers received votes from our panel of 17 experts.

Check out our full list of staff picks for the Senator’s Cup Fall Classic below.

Aaron Creed, Speed51.com National Correspondent

Pick: Brittney Zamora

The obvious choices when looking at who will be competing would be Doss or maybe even Gragson, but Brittney Zamora has been proving over the last couple seasons that she is capable of winning races and championships. Now I think the KDDP development driver and one of the top young talents on the west coast will breakthrough outside the Northwest region with a victory in Vegas.

Adam Mackey, Speed51.com Correspondent

Pick: Noah Gragson

I’m not really familiar with many of the drivers that will be entered for this weekend’s event but a couple names stick out, Noah Gragson and Jeremy Doss. For this one, I’ll go with Noah Gragson for the win.

Bob Dillner, Speed51.com Executive Editor

Pick: Jeremy Doss

The California ace will plays his cards right in Vegas and add another big win to his resume.

Brandon Paul, Speed51.com Editor

Pick: Jeremy Doss

I know he’s the favorite and some people may call this an easy pick, but I believe Doss will once again be at the front battling for the Senator’s Cup win. He’s been as good as anyone at Vegas in recent years and I expect him to continue that trend this weekend.

Connor Sullivan, Speed51.com Northeast Editor

Pick: Jeremy Doss

The No. 75 team has had a tremendous season on the West Coast, plus they have won the last two SRL shows at Vegas. Those kind of numbers should lead him towards his first Senator’s Cup victory.

Dakota Geyer, Speed51.com State Editor (IN & MI)

Pick: Noah Gragson

Gragson is in the battle for the NASCAR Truck Series championship in a season where he’s shown big improvement from one year ago. He’ll transfer that over to the Late Model as he picks up the big win at his home track.

Pick: Jeremy Doss

When it comes to Late Model racing on the West Coast, Doss has taken his share of big wins. It may just come down to a Bullring Shootout with Doss and Vegas’ own Noah Gragson, but either way I expect Doss to be right up front at the end.

Pick: Noah Gragson

Gragson enters the race as the “Hometown Kid” with a bunch of motivation to get to victory lane at The Bullring.

Elgin Traylor, Speed51.com Southeast Correspondent

Pick: Jeremy Doss

After coming up one spot short last year, look for Doss to hit the big money in Vegas.

Evan Canfield, Speed51.com / MoJo Photos

Pick: Noah Gragson

My knowledge of Late Models out West is a little shallow so I will go with a safe pick. Gragson is certainly one of the most talented young drivers in the country and coming back to Las Vegas will make him a favorite for the victory.

Jeremy Anders, Speed51.com Northwest Editor

Pick: Gracin Raz

I’m going to go out on a limb and pick Gracin Raz. He’s been fast everywhere that he’s been this year and does really well at these small bullring style tracks. He was battling his other half of Brittney Zamora for a win just a few weeks ago at the small bullring of Wenatchee Valley Super Oval. He’s had a run of bad luck and DNF’s this year. He had a great car last year at the track but wrecked in practice. The young shoe will get back in victory lane this weekend at the Senator’s Cup Fall Classic with a little Las Vegas luck.

Kevin Peters, Speed51.com Southwest Editor

Pick: Jeremy Doss

Doss will be out to make up for last year’s near victory in the Senator’s Cup Fall Classic. Derek Thorn and Doss went toe-to-toe last year and Doss felt he was wronged at the end of last year’s event. Doss’ last win in the SPEARS SRL Southwest Tour Series was the Vegas race in May against a 30-car field. It is admittedly his best track, and he will be happy with nothing less than a $15,000 win.

Mark Keeler, Speed51.com Operations Manager

Pick: Jeremy Doss

With my lack of knowledge on the west coast racers, the one name that glaringly stands out on that list to me is Jeremy Doss. East coast or west coast he is always a strong competitor, so he is my pick in the dessert.

Patrick Hahe, Speed51.com Great Lakes Editor

Pick: Brittney Zamora

I have more fun picking less known names, though Zamora should be on everybody’s radar after a great 2018 season. She does well in the Northwest and hopefully she will be able to show everybody why in Vegas.

Rob Blount, Speed51.com Associate Editor

Pick: Trevor Cristiani

Idaho’s Cristiani is set for a big race and it’s going to happen this weekend at the Bullring. Hopefully Cristiani can get me some points in the staff pick standings, too.

Ryan McCollough, Speed51.com Southeast Correspondent

Pick: Jeremy Doss

Jeremy Doss has established himself as one of the region’s best. Like Bubba Pollard in the Deep South and Brian Campbell in the Great Lakes, Doss on the west coast is almost easy money.

Tom Ryan, Speed51.com Digital Manager

Pick: Jeremy Doss

Doss has been held winless for a little while, but I expect him hit the jackpot at the Bullring.
