The cold New England winter heats up once again on Saturday, February 28 with the seventh running of northern New England’s largest indoor charity karting race, the DT100 for Make-A-Wish presented by Synergy Signworks. For the second straight year, event founder David Thomas, Jr. is proud to announce Speed51.com as the official live coverage provider of the DT100 for Make-A-Wish.
“On behalf of the DT100 for Make-A-Wish we are all very excited to have Speed51.com join us again as the official live broadcast provider of our event,” said Thomas. “The DT100 has grown to feature drivers from over a dozen states, and to be able to provide their families, friends, and race fans the opportunity to follow the live action of our event with the convenience of their cell phones is something that has truly helped bring the DT100 to the next level!”
Throughout the event, Speed51.com will be on hand to provide live updates, photos and unique coverage through its popular Trackside Now format. Coverage of the event will be presented by Make-A-Wish and will encourage race fans throughout the country to donate to the great cause.
“I have known Dave for a long time and what he has been able to do with this event is unbelievable,” said Bob Dillner, owner of Speed51.com. “It is an honor for Speed51.com to be named as the official live coverage provider. Our goal on Saturday is to provide fans unable to make the trip to Maine an opportunity to follow along with this one-of-a-kind event, as well as contribute the great cause that is the Make-A-Wish foundation.”
Over 100 drivers from a dozen states will prepare for battle in equally prepared Sodi GT5 racing go karts at the beautiful Maine Indoor Karting complex in Scarborough, ME. This year’s talented driver roster will include 2015 New Smyrna ACT Late Model Champion Eddie MacDonald, 2014 NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour Champion Andy Seuss, “Madhouse” Modified stars Burt and Jason Myers, ISMA’s all-time winningest driver “The Rowley Rocket” Chris Perley, 7-Time ISMA Champion Russ Wood, 5-Time NEMA Champion Randy Cabral, 4-Time MSA Champion Trent Stephens, 2-Time ACT Tour Champion Wayne Helliwell, Jr., 2-Time Oxford 250 Champion Travis Benjamin, open-wheel racing legend “The Jersey Jet” Joey Payne and many more.
Last year’s DT100 raised a total of $30,558 for the Make-A-Wish foundation. Entering the event’s seventh year, racers and fans have raised a total of $124,689 for the cause. Pre-race net fundraising for this year’s race has already reached over $20,000.
