Speed51.com has been a leader and an innovator in short track racing media since its inception in 2001. From live coverage via our Trackside Now professional live-blog to network-style pay-per-view events, Speed51.com has always been at the forefront.
Now Speed51.com is stepping into the podcast-world. Released today on iTunes, Speed51 “Unfiltered” is the first of a free weekly podcast featuring thoughts on Short Track Racing throughout America.
“Unfiltered” is led by Speed51.com founder, Bob Dillner. The veteran motorsports broadcaster will be sharing his unfiltered takes on some of the hot-button topics in short track racing, using his years of knowledge and experience to back him up.
Dillner will be joined by co-host Rob Blount, Speed51.com’s Southeast editor, as well as 51’s Digital Manager, Tom Ryan, who will serve as Unfiltered’s producer. Also adding his opinion to the podcast will be Speed51’s Operations Manger, Mark Keeler, who will handle the technical aspects of the podcast.
“I’ve been a fan of podcasts for a very long time and I’ve been wanting Speed51.com to start one for a long time,” said Speed51.com’s Digital Manager, Tom Ryan. “We hope this gives fans an insiders look at who we are. We don’t offer too many opinions in our stories, unless its a special column, so this gives our team an opportunity to put their spin on topics on the sport we all care so much about.”
Speed51.com’s first foray into podcasting will offer opinions on events from those on the ground at the tracks every single weekend, but will also explore the fun side of short track racing within the walls of the race track, but also outside of the track as well.
Speed51 will also be entertaining several guests throughout the year from all facets of Short Track Racing to give more insight into the “players” within this section of motorsports.
“Unfiltered” will be recorded weekly from “Studio 51,” the home base for Speed51.com operations in Concord, North Carolina. “Unfiltered” is available for free on iTunes. Click here to subscribe.
Speed51 “Unfiltered” will also be available in a video format on the site itself for Speed51 Premium Video Members.
The first episode of “Unfiltered” which is titled, “Steinbrenner Pissed Me Off,” focuses on Florida Speedweeks, everyone’s fear of snakes, and more. To listen to the first episode of “Unfiltered,” head over to iTunes now.
