The Skinny: Hersey dominated the night by leading by nearly 3/4 of a lap in the race’s second half. But multiple cautions in the final nine laps brought McKennedy into play for the final lap dash.

Winning Quote: “I had to make the time just right with the crossover, I had a real good run into one going up high, came all the way across the track and had a real good angle off of turn two and had enough steam on the straight to make the pass going into three. Good hard clean pass and we were able to win it.” – Jon McKennedy

Winning Chassis: Race Works

Winning Engine: Petit

Winning Crew Chief: No designated crew chief

On the Move: In his first race of the season Steve Masse finished fourth and ran as high as third after starting 14th and missing the first of two practices as the crew put the finishing touches on car No. 13.

Biggest Loser: Woody Pitkat was racing up front but contact on a restart sent him spinning around and damaged his steering. He finished tenth, one lap down.

Notebook:
-Steve Masse is making his first start this season. After not having their car ready for the Seekonk Tri-Track race Wednesday they have shown up to Monadnock still tightening some things up.

– Former Monadnock track champ Todd Patnode led the first practice ahead of Jon McKennedy, Woody Pitkat, Scott McMichael and Jeff Pearl.

– Patnode also led in the second practice ahead of Kirk Alexander, Jon McKennedy, Carl Medeiros Jr, and Russ Hersey.

-Chris Pasteryak is running his 2015 car tonight after running his 2016 car at Seekonk Wednesday.

-Geoff Gernhard had a tough start to the day with a bad tire on the car. After replacing the tire and making mulitple setup changes, he feels he’s got a car to compete with tonight.
