The Skinny:

Ryan Preece came to Bronson Speedway and put on a show for the fans. Leading from flag to flag, Preece was able to drive his Eddie Partridge-owned No. 6 to victory lane. Behind him Ron Silk and Jeremy Gerstner battled hard at the end of the 50-lap shootout with Gerstner coming home in second place.

Winning Quote:

“I hope next year that more guys come. Because honestly this was a cool event. Really great staff. Really great to race and work with and I really enjoyed being here.”

Notebook: Today’s race will guarantee the winner $2,000 and a guarenteed fifth-place starting spot in the Richie Evans Memorial 100 at New Smyrna Speedway Friday, February 19.

Ryan Preece arrived at the track at 4:00 pm. Just in time for final practice. He was here at the speedway yesterday to test and went to New Smyrna Speedway this morning to get ready for the World Series races later this week.

Jeremy Gerstner is the only previous winner at Bronson Speedway. He won a race in a Florida Modified.

Caution laps will count toward the 50 total laps raced this evening.

Tour Type Modifieds will be the first cars out to qualify. Though they will be the last feature event of the evening.

Most drivers reported being a little loose during qualifying. The track reportedly lost grip just as the sun started going down.

Ron Silk goes into the pits just before the flagman gives the one to go signal. Silk comes immediately back out onto the speedway and the field gets set for green.

Lap 1: Ryan Preece leads the field to the green flag for the 50 lap main event.

Lap 10: Jeremy Gerstner battles hard with Ryan Preece, applying the bumper liberally for several laps.

Lap 15: Ron Silk works his way from the back to second. Passing Gerstner quickly and going straight to Preece’s rear bumper.

Lap 25: As the field crosses halfway, Ryan Preece and Ron Silk have stretched away from Gerstner, Bertuccio, and Baldwin.

Lap 30: Preece leads Silk by about a second.

Lap 35: Preece extending his lead as Bertuccio and Baldwin battle for third.

Lap 39: Dalton Baldwin spins on the backstretch but does not collect the wall or any competitors. He will rejoin the field. Caution laps will count as the field gets reformed.
