Feature Notebook: 29 cars started the 100-lap feature after 27 cars took time trials… The top six starting positions were decided via a redraw… Fast-time award winner Casey Roderick start fifth after the redraw… Dylan Fetcho was fifth-fastest in time trials but started from the pole position with Dillon Oliver to his outside… Roderick worked from fifth to the lead by lap 22… Roderick led until Willie Allen took the lead with about 30 laps to go… Allen took the victory over Roderick, Chandler Smith, Cole Williams and Justin Ashburn.
What Won the Race: Willie Allen outlasted Casey Roderick on the longer runs to run away with the season opening victory in the Pro Late Model division.
The Skinny: After setting fast time, Casey Roderick was forced to start from the fifth position after a top-six redraw. Roderick quickly moved his way through the top five and into the lead by the 20th lap of the race. Roderick led the next 50 laps before Willie Allen chased Roderick down and moved into the lead. From there, it was all Willie Allen as he drove away from Roderick and the rest of the field. Young Chandler Smith was able to move by Justin Ashburn to get onto the podium with about 10 laps to go.
Winning Quote: “It’s always good to start the season off with a win,” said Willie Allen.
On the Move: Cole Williams +19 positions (Started 23rd, finished fourth)
Biggest Loser: Dillon Olliver -22 positions (Started second, finished 24th)
Next Series Race: The Pro Late Models are off for the next couple of weeks, but the Fairgrounds Speedway Nashville is back in action on Saturday, April 8th when the ARCA/CRA Super Series and Southern Super Series run a co-sanctioned 100-lap event.

Weather: So far it is a cool day with temperatures in the high 50’s, but the air is expected to heat up into the high 70’s as the day goes on. There’s almost no clouds in the sky, making it a perfect day for some short track racing.
Who to Watch For: Plenty of stars in Pro Late Model racing have come out to the Fairgrounds for the season opener. Two-time Daytona 500 champion Sterling Marlin can still get the job done. Casey Roderick has four PLM victories in five starts in 2017 and just added a victory to his resume two nights ago at Five Flags Speedway in Pensacola, Florida. Former track champion Willie Allen is always tough to beat at Nashville, as well as young gun Cole Williams.
Title Fight: This is the season-opener at the Fairgrounds Speedway Nashville.
Qualifying Format: The Pro Late Models will qualify via a traditional single car, two-lap time trial format.
Car Count: 27 Pro Late Models have signed in for the season opener here in Nashville.
