Winning Quote: “This is a big one. I’ve gotta thank all of the guys that worked on this thing to get it to go. First tour win for us, this has been a good track for us. We’ve run well, we’ve just had some bad luck here and there. Hopefully we got the monkey off our back.” – Joe Squeglia
Winning Chassis: Hamke
Winning Engine: Ilmor/Phil Harper
Winning Crew Chief: Dave Howard
Winning Shocks: Rouleau Racing
On the Move: Travis Benjamin started 15th and drove his way through the field to finish second, a gain of 13 positions.
Biggest Loser: Eddie MacDonald won his heat race and started on the outside of the front row, but faded back through the field to finish 18th, a loss of 16 positions.
Notebook: Eddie MacDonald will be making his first PASS start of the season tonight at his home track of Lee USA Speedway. MacDonald will be racing the same No. 66 Super Late Model that he drove to victory in last year’s PASS race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.
After suffering engine problems at White Mountain Motorsports Park (NH), Joey Polewarczyk, Jr. returns to the Pro All Stars Series tonight.
Wyatt Alexander is making a start tonight in the Dan Colby-owned No. 96 machine. He recently won a 50-lap Pro Stock race at Wiscasset Speedway (ME) but he is not in that same family-owned car tonight.
Jeremy Davis told Speed51.com that he was dealing with a skip during the first practice session. He admitted that “having older stuff is starting to catch up to us I guess.” Davis has been fast throughout the 2016 season but has had a hard time finishing races.
Johnny Clark is debuting a brand new Port City Chassis tonight at Lee. Today’s first practice was the first time the car hit the track. Clark’s crew said that they were supposed to test Thursday at Wiscasset Speedway (ME) to shake the car down but didn’t end up finding the time. So far Clark is happy with the speed the car has.
Title Fight: DJ Shaw leads Mike Hopkins by just four points heading into Friday night’s race at Lee USA Speedway. The top five in the standings are separated by 44 points.
