The Skinny: Joey Doiron had the dominant car for much of the Southern Maine Chrysler Dodge Jeep 150, but it was DJ Shaw standing in victory lane after passing show on a lap 147 restart. On the late restart, Shaw lined up third behind Doiron and Garrett Hall. Exiting turn two he found racing room under Doiron and made it stick down the backstretch. From there he fended off all challenges to score the victory.
Winning Quote: “I can’t believe I won. Joey (Doiron) was the dominant car and he could have used me up at the end and he didn’t. Class act racing by him, he’s great to race with.” – DJ Shaw
Notebook: The streak of bad luck continues for Travis Benjamin and the Petit Motorsports team. After being fast all day long in practice on Saturday, Benjamin’s No. 7 suffered a blown engine during today’s first practice session. The team is currently working to put a backup engine in the car.
Brandon Barker, a former Pro Series standout at Beech Ridge, is making a start in the No. 49 owned by the Shaw family here today.
There will be a few “locals” to keep an eye on today as they try to defend their home turf. Nick Cusack, Robbie Harrison, Reid Lanpher, Dave Farrington Jr., Kelly Moore, Mike Fowler, Dan Winter and Jacob Dore are among the drivers looking for a home track win.
Ben Tinker picked up the win in the 40-lap PASS Modified feature.
Car Count: 33 PASS North Super Late Models are in the pit area for today’s race.
Title Fight: Ben Rowe leads Mike Hopkins by 14 points in the PASS North championship standings. DJ Shaw is two points back of Hopkins.

Qualifying Events: Three qualifying heat races and a consolation race will set the grid for today’s 150-lap feature event.
Practice Results: Nick Cusack set fast time in the fourth and final practice session of the day.
Event Schedule: Qualifying heat races begin at 3 p.m. ET. There will be heat races for the Super Late Models and PASS Modifieds. There will then be a PASS North consolation race and PASS Modified feature leading up to the Southern Maine Chrysler Dodge Jeep 150.
Who To Watch For: It’s hard to point out a single driver to watch for today at Beech Ridge. Why is that? Well, in the last 11 PASS North races at Beech Ridge there have been 11 different winners. If we’re looking for a driver to continue that trend I think you have to look at someone like defending track champion Reid Lanpher or Mike Hopkins, a driver on the verge of breaking through for his first series win.
If you want to play it more on the safe side and go with someone who has already won at Beech Ridge, Mike Rowe and DJ Shaw are never bad bets at the 3/8-mile oval.
