The Skinny:

ACT – Therrien held off Rowland Robinson Jr.Eddie MacDonald, Helliwell and Scott Dragon on two late-race restarts, which occurred on laps 94 and 95. The victory was Therrien’s second-career American-Canadian Tour win, and it was his first since July 13, 2013 at White Mountain Motorsports Park.

PASS – Rowe’s three-wide move on a lap-147 restart gave the second-generation driver the lead for keeps. On the white-flag lap, Shaw went low off of turn two, while Clark resorted to the third groove. The trio drag raced around turns three and four before Rowe won the battle to the checkered flag.

Winning Quote: “Damn, this feels good. Picking up right where we left off last year at Speedway 51. The guys, when we unloaded this morning, we weren’t that great. And they busted their butts all day to get us here now. That was awesome.” – Bobby Therrien, ACT winner.

“Everybody knows that I’ve struggled at Oxford and Beech Ridge for about five years now, and (Crazy Horse Racing) turned me around. I just flat-footed comin’ off four, and I actually thought (Shaw) got me. I was just wide open.” – Ben Rowe, PASS winner.

Notebook:  Eddie MacDonald arrived in Oxford, Maine this afternoon after racing in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East race at Bristol Saturday afternoon.  MacDonald has elected to start from the rear of his ACT heat race.

A great crowd is on hand for today’s PASS/ACT doubleheader at Oxford Plains Speedway.

Dave Farrington, Jr. has been disqualified from his win in the third ACT qualifying heat race for being too low through post-race tech.

Corey Mason has been disqualified from his third-place finish in the second ACT consolation race for being too low in post-race tech.

Thompson winner Garrett Hall was involved in an incident on the backstretch during his PASS qualifying heat race.  He avoided damage but finished ninth out of 11 cars.

Super Late Model racer Trevor Sanborn picked up the win in the 25-lap Legends feature.

Ryan Robbins won the 40-lap PASS Modified feature.

Car Count: 47 Pro All Stars Series Super Late Models & 33 ACT Late Models.

Title Fight: Garrett Hall leads the Pro All Stars Series into Oxford Plains Speedway after winning the season opener at Thompson.

Today’s race is the first race of the season for the American-Canadian Tour.  Wayne Helliwell, Jr. enters the race as the defending tour champion.

Qualifying Events
: There will be heat races for the PASS Super Late Models with five drivers from each heat qualifying to the feature.  The rest of the drivers will need to qualify through a consolation race.

The ACT field will be set by the plus/minus system through four heat races and two consolation races.

Practice Results: Mike Hopkins led the final round of PASS Super Late Model practice over Glen Luce. Scott Payea led the final round of ACT practice.

Event Schedule: Heats for the American-Canadian Tour, Pro All Stars Series, Super Late Models and Legends will take place before a round of consolation races.  Feature action will begin with the PASS Modifieds and will be followed by the Legends, ACT 100 and PASS 150.

Who To Watch For: Travis Benjamin, a two-time Oxford 250 champion, makes his way to Oxford after a rough outing with Petit Motorsports at Thompson.  Oxford is a track he’s good at, so add in the fact that he’s hungry and he could be one to watch in Pro All Stars Series competition.

Brad Babb will be a driver to watch in the ACT Late Model feature later today.  He was in a position to win during one of the two ACT events at Oxford last year and is expected to be a driver that steps up to challenge for a title in 2016.

The Track: Oxford Plains Speedway is a historic 3/8-mile oval located in Oxford, Maine.  The track is home to the prestigious Oxford 250.

Weather: It’s an absolutely beautiful day for racing in Oxford, Maine. Temperatures are in the 60s with bright blue skies above the race track.

Next Series Race: The Pro All Stars Series returns to action on April 30 at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway (ME).  The American-Canadian Tour will compete in the Governor’s Cup at Lee USA Speedway (NH) next Sunday, April 24.
