The Skinny
: Adam Polvinen battled with Dalton Sargeant early before taking control of the lead. Polvinen led until the lap 66 mark when Wayne Helliwell, Jr. took over the top spot.  A late caution set up a six lap shootout between Helliwell and Scott Farrington and Helliwell pulled away. Helliwell, Farrington and Sargeant all clinched provisional starting spots for the Oxford 250.

On the Move: Wayne Helliwell, Jr. started 12th and won the 100-lap race, a gain of 10 positions.

 

Biggest Loser: Dennis Spencer, Jr. started fourth and ran in the top 10 for much of the race before a mechanical failure relegated him to a 29th-place finish, a loss of 25 positions.

 

Notebook: The winner of today’s race will receive a pay check for $2,000, but more importantly the top-three finishers will receive provisional starting spots for the Oxford 250.

 

Trevor Sanborn is entered in today’s race behind the wheel of the two-time Oxford 250 winning ride owned by Travis Benjamin.

 

Dalton Sargeant is making his first career start at Oxford Plains Speedway today. He told 51 earlier this week that his main goal is to get prepared for the Oxford 250 in Oxford.

 

Dale Shaw is behind the wheel of one of the Dale Shaw Racecars rides today hoping to lock into the Oxford 250.

 

Matt Dufualt defended his home turf and dominated the North East Street Stock Tour 35-lap feature.

 

Title Fight: Today’s race is a non-points race for drivers who have not yet won a Pro All Stars Series race.

Event Schedule: Racing starts at 6 p.m. ET with North East Street Stock Tour heats and Pro All Stars Series heats. There will be a Smokey Donut Show and Spectator Drags before feature racing begins. The PASS Super Late Models will race for 100 laps.

 

Who To Watch For: Derek Griffith has been fast throughout today’s practice sessions and will be a driver to watch. Southeast Super Late Model star Dalton Sargeant will also be a tough to beat in the Bond Suss Motorsports car. Local drivers such as TJ Brackett, Tim Brackett and Shawn Martin could pull off home track wins.

The Track: Oxford Plains Speedway is a 3/8-mile oval located in Oxford, Maine. The track plays host to the prestigious Oxford 250.

 

Weather: It’s a great day for racing on this Independence Day Weekend with temperatures in the low 80s and bright blue skies above the race track.
