Modified Touring Series – Monadnock Speedway – 7/8/17

What Won the Race: With Jon McKennedy closing rapidly behind, Chase Dowling muscled his way past TJ Bleau with around 50 to go and kept McKennedy in the mirror to win his first career MTS race and in a Tour-Type Modified.

The Skinny: Polesitter Jon McKennedy fell back early in the race, TJ Bleau assumed the lead for the race’s first half. Chase Dowling was in the No. 25 substituting for Rowan Pennink who was running SK Modifieds at Thompson. Dowling followed Bleau for the first half, but forced his way past to the lead and drove away for the win. Dowling is coming off a major SK Modified win at Stafford on Friday night in the SK 5K.

On the Move: Richard Savary made a move through the field from 13th to finish 4th.
Biggest Loser: Todd Patnode was in the mix after starting third, but had a problem late, finishing 15th.
Championship Contenders: The following twelve drivers are qualified for the MTS Sunoco Quest for the Cup, the MTS Championship format. It is the points wins earned by the team they drive for over the season. Substitute drivers earn points for the team and primary driver.

-Russ Hersey won at Claremont Speedway in the VMRS race, he is driving a second car for the Rameau team.
