What Won the Race:
A car that worked on the high side and lapped traffic helped Johnny Sauter stay in front of Jonathan Eilen for 96 of the 100 laps.

The Skinny:
Right from the start, Sauter used the high side to take the lead. He proceeded to lead all but four laps, using lapped traffic to keep Eilen from passing him. Eilen stayed on the leaders bumper nearly the whole race, but did not have enough to reclaim the top spot. Only one early caution slowed the race.
Winning Quote:
“Lapped traffic was my friend tonight, I felt like I was better on the top than he was, so it worked out for us tonight.” -Johnny Sauter
On the Move:
Justin Mondiek started 21st on the grid and moved forward six positions to finish 15th.
Biggest Loser:
John DeAngelis, Jr. started second but dropped to 12th in the final results, a loss of 10 positions.
Feature Notebook:
Eilen leads early on.
Sauter takes the lead, then yellow comes out for Mohn spinning in turn four. Sommers goes to the tail of the field.
75 to go: Sauter, Eilen, Morrissey, Fredrickson, and Shafer Jr. round out the top-5
50 to go: Sauter continues to lead but Eilen has reached the bumper of the leader. The top-5 has not changed.
35 to go: Eilen looks to the inside of Sauter, but Sauter holds him off on the high side.
25 to go: The leaders continue to work lapped traffic, Eilen appears faster but just cannot get there.
10 to go: Sauter has gained some ground from the rest of the field in lapped traffic.
Checkered Flag: Johnny Sauter wins at Dells Raceway Park.

Who to Watch For:
The last Midwest Tour event was won by youngster, Carson Kvapil. Eyes will be on him to see if he can back up his performance from Grundy Center. Derek Kraus became the youngest Tour winner here, and will be one to watch again tonight.
Title Fight:
Austin Nason leads the point standings by 12 points headed into tonight’s race. Casey Johnson sits in third place only 14 points back, which means a fumble by any one of them could shake up the standings.
The Track:
Dells Raceway Park is located just north of Wisconsin Dells, WI. The 1/3 mile asphalt track was opened in 1958, and has been a staple in short track racing since.
Weather:
While the forecast did not look to be favorable, there is no chance of rain for tonight and it will be just over 70 degrees for green flag.
Next Series Race:
The next race for the Midwest Tour will be the season finale at LaCrosse Speedway on October 7th.
