The Skinny: Race one was an epic battle as Lee Pulliam, and CE Falk each had turns out front only to get booted out of the lead. Pulliam spun, Falk had a flat at Matt Bowling ended up holding off the pack of hard charges for the win in the first 100 lap race. They were three wide for the lead for a full set of corners. The crowd was going nuts. After the race Bobby McCarty had a few words for Bowling and Pulliam had an ear full for Falk. It sets a great stage for race two.
Race two saw Austin Thaxton dominate only to get hung up in lap traffic in the final 10 laps and allow Matt Bowling to sneak by for the twin 100 sweep. Lee Pulliam charged to finish second after starting 18th in race two and Thaxton finished third.
Notebook: Josh Oakley led practice on Friday at South Boston. Lee Pullman goes for career win number 50 at South Boston. Nearby Langley Speedway is closed which is allowing for an extra car count here on opening day. Matt Bowling is the defending track champion, as former track and national champions Peyton Sellers and Philip Morris are in the lineup today. Former Limited Sportsman champions Trey Crews and Danny Willis make the jump to Late Model Stock.
Brian Pembelton spun in practice for the lone yellow flag.
