What Won the Race:

Overall: Consistency was Joey Doiron’s best friend on this night as he was able to finish third in all three 35-lap races to finish the night with 9 points, earning the lowest scorecard and clinching the overall.

Race One: Jacob Dore led from the pole to dominate the first 35-lap feature.

Race Two: Cory Casagrande battled hard in the closing laps against George Bessette and held him off for the win.

Race Three: Devin O’Connell worked forward fast from fourth starting spot to dominate and drive away from the field.

The Skinny: Joey Doiron’s night started off consistently enough, timing fourth in time trials and finishing third in race number one. In the second race, an inversion of lead lap cars burried Doiron in the back. Things almost got worse when a spinning Scott MacMichael triggered a multi-car crash in turn one at the start of race two, damaging Doiron’s nose. But Doiron’s damage was cosmetic and minor, while other contenders like Mike O’Sullivan were taken out.

After some hasty repairs, Doiron marched back through to finish third in race two. For race three, Diron would start ninth and used some patience, passing contenders Cory Casagrande mid-way through, staying ahead of race one winner Jacob Dore, and reaching third, finishing close enough to his closest competitor Devin O’Connell.

The overall victory will hand Doiron the points lead heading to race three at Loudon, NH. It’s the first career GSPSS for Doiron.

Winning Quote: “I didn’t get a lot of practice today, just kind of used the first segment as a test session. We made some changes for the second one, didn’t get show how good our car was, has trouble at the beginning, but attrition took care of that. The last one, just put it on the outside and let it rip.” – Joey Doiron
