What Won the Race: After taking over the lead in the first quarter of the race from Joey Doiron, Devin O’Connell held off Todd Stone over the final 60 laps in a race of cat & mouse between the two. In the end O’Connell survived lapped traffic and Stone’s repeated attacks to win his second Granite State Pro Stock Series race of 2018 and his career.

The Skinny: Guy Caron was impressive in the early laps, getting around polesitter Joey Doiron at the start. When the yellow flew at Lap 4 for a spinning Ray Christian III, Doiron was able to assume the lead on the restart while Caron slid back.
Doiron led for about 20 laps before being run down from behind by both O’Connell and Stone.
O’Connell could hardly let up as the race went green the rest of the way with Stone hounding him for the majority of the final 60 lap stretch.
Behind them, Mike O’Sullivan moved up from tenth starting spot, but ran out of time and laps to be a factor for the lead.
O’Connell’s victory is the first since his first career win at Hudson Speedway in July. With the absence of Cory Casagrande tonight and with Doiron’s fourth place finish, O’Connell now stands alone atop the points standings heading to Oktoberfest at Lee USA Speedway with three races to go in 2018.
Winning Quote: “I didn’t know if I was going to hold Todd off, he was coming real hard at the end there. I was hoping to get one win this year, but to come off with a second win and the points lead, I’m very stoked.” – Devin O’Connell
