Notebook:

The JEGS / CRA Super Series visits Columbus Motor Speedway for the final time.  Drivers will be competing in the Memorial 100 to add their name next to John Hunter Nemechek as 2016 JEGS / CRA All-Stars Tour winners.

Tristan Van Wieringen set fast time during qualifying, which determined the 20 cars that would lock in on time for tonight’s Memorial 100.

Rain has delayed racing at Columbus Motor Speedway for the third time today.  Rain fell this morning, then again during practice.  During the B-Main for the track’s compact division, rain fell for a third time.  Cars are currently on track, completing drying duties, and the track plans to make all attempts to get back to racing.

After trying all day long, Mother Nature finally won at Columbus Motor Speedway. The JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Memorial 100 will be rescheduled, and a date will be announced soon.

Car Count:

A field of 31 cars are on the entry list for today’s event.

Title Fight:

With a large field of cars trying to take home the money from Lebanon I-44 Speedway’s Masters of the Pros 144, the points championship is wide open.  Four of the top five drivers have not filed entry blanks to run this weekend at Columbus.  Trevor Noles currently leads in points over John Hunter Nemechek.  Trevor Berry, in fourth, is the highest driver in points scheduled to attend the Memorial 100.  Cody Coughlin sits six points back in sixth place.

Event Schedule:

Practice starts at 3 PM at Columbus Motor Speedway, with qualifying for the JEGS / CRA All-Stars Tour starting at 6:15 PM.  Racing for all divisions starts at 7 PM.  All times are Eastern.

Who To Watch For:

Cody Coughlin has won the last three straight ARCA / CRA Super Series events, and had a strong run late at the last JEGS / CRA All-Stars Tour event.  Look to see if he can carry the momentum from the Super Late Models to the Pro Late Models.  Also, look for Trevor Noles to carry momentum from a second place finish at Lebanon I-44 Speedway into today’s start.

The Track:

Columbus Motor Speedway is a 1/3 mile asphalt racetrack located Southeast of Columbus, OH.  The facility has been open since 1946, and originally was a dirt track.  The Speedway is one of a handful of NASCAR Hometracks in the state of Ohio.  This is the final year of racing at Columbus Motor Speedway, as owners have sold the facility to the City of Obetz.

Weather:

Weather has finally warmed up in the Midwest.  Columbus is expected to see a high of 94, and a low of 63.  Rain ended the practice session early, but is not expected to be a factor the rest of the night.

Next Series Race:

The JEGS / CRA All-Stars Tour will move on to race at Berlin Raceway in Marne, MI.  Teams will run 100 laps on Saturday, June 11th.  The JEGS / CRA All-Stars Tour will be one of many series running at Berlin during the weekend, culminating in the Berlin 251 for the ARCA/CRA Super Series on June 13th.

The Skinny:

After trying all day long, Mother Nature finally won at Columbus Motor Speedway. The JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Memorial 100 will be rescheduled, and a date will be announced soon.
